Clara GAA Club County Offaly will be the host club for this years GAA Rounders Féile which takes place next weekend (May 30/31, June 1).

The Féile competition is the highlight event of the GAA Rounders juvenile calendar and this years competition will offer underage players the chance to showcase their skills with the hope of being selected for the Rounders exhibit game in Croke Park on the August Bank Holiday weekend.

GAA Chairman, Ger Proctor said: "We are looking forward to Féile Cluiche Corr 2009, which is being hosted by Clara GAA Club. We hope that it is a great success as we strive to develop our game".

Association President, Joe O Donaghue added: "We would like to welcome everyone to Féile Cluiche 2009. It is our aim to increase the participation of people of all ages in GAA Rounders and in particular the youth of our communities.

"I would like to thank most sincerely Clara GAA Club for allowing us to use their fabulous facilities for the hosting of our Féile."

Entry to this years competition will cost €60 per team. Teams that are not already affiliated to GAA Rounders, will be required to affiliate on the day at an additional charge.

Registration on Saturday May 30 2009, will commence at 1.30pm sharp and teams are requested to arrive on time. Games will commence at 2.0pm.

Registration on Sunday May 31 and Monday June 1 2009 will commence at 11.30am with games commencing at 12 noon sharp.

Clubs wishing to enter wish to enter a team(s) in the 2009 GAA Rounders Féile competitions are asked to contact the National Secrerary Martina Kirwan at secretary.rounders@gaa.ie, 085 7240831 or at Castledermott Road, Tullow, Co Carlow on or before Wednesday May 27 2009, detailing what team(s) you will be entering into the completion.

This will enable the draws to be completed before the start of the competitions and games to start on time.

The schedule for the weekend is as follows:

Saturday May 30 2009 – U13 boys and U13 girls.

Sunday May 31 2009 – U15 boys and U15 girls.

Monday June 1 2009 – U14 and U16 mixed.
