Weekend Championship Previews

The GWP Junior A Football Championship Quarter Finals are down for decision this weekend and the much anticipated quarter final replay in the Connacht Gold Senior Championship between Mohill and Annaduff.

SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP Quarter Final Replay – Mohill v Annaduff

Mohill got one hell of a score last weekend when they secured a draw in literally the last kick of the game.  This is the second year in a row that Mohill have been brought to a replay at quarter final stage.  Mohill will be buoyed by their late comeback last weekend but concerned about how they drifted in and out of the game.  Annaduff on the other hand will take a lot of confidence from their overall performance even though they lost their 4 point lead in injury time.  Last weekends game was a real humdinger and the replay is sure to be no different.  May the best team win and remember – extra time if necessary!

SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP Relegation Semi Final Replay

Drumreilly and Cloone couldn’t be separated last weekend and we expect another tight encounter this weekend.  Allen Gaels await the losers in the Relegation Final – I doubt either team will want to be in that Final!

INTERMEDIATE CHAMPIONSHIP Relegation Semi Final Replay

Fenagh and Ballinaglera have one more chance to save their intermediate championship status.  Another titanic battle is on the cards and St Mary’s await the losers in the Relegation Final.

JUNIOR A FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP Quarter Finals

Ballinamore SOH v Allen Gaels

Melvin Gaels v Gortletteragh

Leitrim Gaels v Annaduff

Mohill v Bornacoola

The Junior A Football Championship enters knock out stage this weekend with the quarter finals down for decision over Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Leitrim Gaels are the favourites for the competition but will face a very tricky assignment against a strong Annaduff side.  An equally strong Melvin Gaels side are hotly tipped to advance against Gortletteragh while the meeting of Ballinamore and Allen Gaels is expected to be a tight game and Bornacoola are likely to advance against Mohill.

JUNIOR A FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP Relegation Semi Finals

Kiltubrid v Drumkeerin

St Mary’s v Carrigallen

The battle for survival will ensure these two ties go down to the wire.

JUNIOR B FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP – Round 2

Ballinamore SOH v Glencar Manorhamilton

Fenagh v St Osnats Glencar

Ballinamore SOH and Glencar Manor are both unbeaten entering Round 2 so this game should be close.  St Osnat’s were beaten in their first game and simply have to win against Fenagh to stay in contention.
