Mohill GAA Club Notes 20/12/2017

Ireland’s Fittest Family – Congratulations to the Beirne Family who won Ireland’s fittest family on Sunday last. The Club is so proud of the young trio Dearbhaile, Jonathan and Keith all treasured players for Mohill and with the fitness their Dad Michael showed he could line out in 2018 for us.
National GAA Draw – Tickets for this draw are on sale locally for €10. There are some great prizes all donated by GAA Headquarters which include a car, All Ireland Hurling and football packages, Great shopping vouchers. The Club is hoping to make big improvements in the Park this year which will be to the benefit to all the community, so be generous and buy a ticket or two.
Scór na nÓg – We had a massive input to Scór on Sunday afternoon in Ballinamore. Róisín Kennedy our co-ordinator had dancers, ballad groups, recitations, solo singers, instrumental music and novelty and all the children performed brilliantly. The Club won the all over Club award, solo singing by Amelia Pajek and Novelty by Shane Mayock, Rian Walpole, John Macklin, Cillian Walpole, Saoirse McWeeney, Orla McWeeney, Niamh McNabola and Ava McNabola. They all go forward to The Connacht final in Claremorris on Jan15. We thank all who helped out especially Róisín Kennedy who was our driving force.

Awards and Presentation night – The tickets for our annual Presentation and Awards Night in January at Lough Rynn Castle are being taken up quickly so get your order in now as soon as possible and avoid disappointment.
Jordan Tighe – We wish one of our greatest young supporters Jordan Tighe a speedy recovery to full health following a few weeks in Crumlin Children’s Hospital. Jordan was disappointed to miss the Under 21 final but the team did not disappoint him as he kept in touch on Twitter.
Under 21 Champions – Congratulations to St Manchan’s on winning the last Under 21 final for the foreseeable future. Both teams played a very sporting game that was helped enormously by great refereeing from Eamonn O Grady. Keith Keegan was well deserving as man-of-the-match, but every man from both sides gave it their all and the future of Leitrim football looks good at this level. We thank the players of Cloone and Eslin who over the last few years have given their all in every age group.
Stephen Flynn – Congratulations to Stephen Flynn who has been elected to Vice Chairman of the County Board.
