Mohill GAA Club Notes 17/01/2018

Presentation Night – On Saturday next we hold our Presentation and Awards night in Lough Rynn Castle with a reception starting at 7pm. All ticket orders must be in by today Wednesday. This will be a night to celebrate what was a most successful year for the club. The music will be provided by DJ, Keelin Murphy. Don’t miss it.

Scór na nÓg – Congratulations to Mohill’s fabulous young singer Amelia Pajek who is Connacht Scór na nÓg Champion in solo singing, Amelia won the hearts of the audience and the adjudicators with her beautiful rendition of Siúil a Rún, she will now represent Leitrim in the All Ireland finals in Sligo. The young actors in The Novelty Act got a great response from the audience and were just pipped to the post by an older bunch from Mayo. All of our participants did Mohill and Leitrim proud on Sunday last in Claremorris and we congratulate the Dancers and Ballad Group from Carrick and the Question Time from Ballinamore who have also qualified for Slogo

AGM – There was a large attendance at the AGM held on Friday last in the Clubrooms. Paul Murphy stood down as Secretary to pursue further studies. Paul has worked hard for the Club for the last two years and has seen success on and off the field, he still has a strong involvement with Bórd na nÓg so retirement is not on his agenda. Colm Conway an enthusiastic young man takes over from Paul as secretary and he’ll be a busy man in 2018 with hopes for big developments in the park. Another hard worker, Frank McGowan has retired as Treasurer but will continue as Lotto co-ordinator. Lisa Boyle takes his place as Treasurer and she is also eager to continue the great work of our past treasurers. The other officers were all elected en bloc. Chairman Padraig McLoughlin in his address praised and thanked everyone who played coached or worked in any way for the club all year, he hopes that the club will have continued success in 2018 and so say all of us
