Aughawillan GAA Club Notes 21/03/2018

Club Lotto – Next draw will be held in Jackies’ Bar, Ballinamore on March 21st. New Jackpot €2,100.

Division 3 – Hard Luck to the Junior team who were defeated by Elsin last Sunday. Score: Aughawillan: 2-6, Eslin: 2-11.

Ladies Football – Well done to the Aughawillan Ladies’ who had a massive win over Kiltubrid last week. Score: Aughawillan: 4-16 Kiltubrid: 2-7. Keep up to date with the ladies’ team on their new Facebook page – Aughawillan Ladies GFA.

Poker Classic – Aughawillan GAA are holding their traditional Good Friday Poker Classic in Aughawillan Community Centre on Friday March 30th at 9.30pm. Registration from 9. Entry €20, rebuys €5, 50/50 cash prizes. Refreshments served on the night. All welcome to come along to what is always a very enjoyable night.

Dublin – Aughawillan Sponsored Cycle – Gary Deane and Martin Flanagan had a hugely successful table quiz St Patrick’s Weekend to fundraise for the cycle and the upgrade of the playing surface. Thank you to the sponsors on the night – McDevitt’s Pharmacy, Pyramid Bookmakers, Tesco, Supervalu, Teresa Kennedy, Glenview, Fresh Today and Jackies’ Bar. Thanks also to Jackies’ for hosting the quiz, Gerard McGovern for the amplification and Damien Gilheany for doing MC duties on the night. A special thanks to all who attended and made the night a success, especially Tom and Mary Conerfry who travelled from Sligo. We hope an enjoyable night was had by all.

Referees Wanted – In order for the GAA and its games to survive, we need to recruit new referees. A special effort is been made to recruit new referees, so if you are interested or know of anybody interested please contact a member of the executive.

Allianz Leagues 2018 – Best of Luck to the Leitrim Hurlers in the Division 3B final versus Lancashire this Sunday 25th March at 12pm in Ballyconnell. Best of luck to the footballers who play Wicklow in Pairc Sean MacDiarmada on Sunday 25th March at 2pm.
