Swan Bar Division 4 – The Juniors returned to winning ways on Sunday when they had a hard-working victory over Ballinaglera to move into joint second in the league table. Final score was 1-11 to 2-6 to the Bors. Panel on duty was Connor Hackett, Luke Jones, Kevin Mulligan, Liam Mulligan, Gearoid Mulligan, Mervyn Howard, Robert O Beirne, Colm Farrell, Daniel Farrell, Ronan Mulligan, Roy Keenan, Kevin Shanley, Liam Jones, Jonathan Duffy, Mark McKeon, John Shanley, Michael Duignan, Trevor Howard, Shane Conroy and Mark McCloskey

Wedding Bells – Congratulations to senior team stalwart Damian Mc Guinness (Cloncarne) and new bride Leanne Mullaney (Castleconnor) who were married last weekend and celebrated with a reception in Lough Rynn. Also to Darren Conboy and Lorraine Canning who tied the knot the previous week. Best wishes for long life and happiness to you all.

Ladies Football – Congratulations and well done to the girls of Bornacoola/St Mary’s who have qualified for the Division 3 League Final following a 5-15 to 3-5 semi-final victory over Keeldra Gaels in sunny conditions in Páirc Naomh Muire on Sunday afternoon last. In what was a very competitive match throughout, it was the greater efficiency of the home side’s attack, allied to staunch defending that proved the difference between the teams at the end. The girls were out of the blocks early and once they found the range for the first time they converted a greater ratio of scoring chances to carry a 3-9 to 1-3 lead into the interval, goalkeeper Caroline Guckian saving a penalty just before the break. To their credit, the Keeldra girls never threw in the towel and provided very stern opposition right to the very end but the girls tagged on a number of second-half scores to keep them at arm’s length. The girls will now face a tough test in the final with unbeaten Dromahair providing the opposition. This game will be played at a date to be decided later in May. On duty on Sunday last were: Caroline Guckian, Cora McCauley, Jasmine Maye, Emily Reynolds, Lorraine Guckian, Enya Guckian, Alison McKeon, Kasey Bruen (1-4), Aisling Leahy (2-3), Sara Crowe (2-2), Hannah Reynolds, Kelly Howard (0-2), Hannah Bird (0-3), Ellen Woods (0-1), Tanya Boyle and Kathy Butler.

Dunnes Bar Senior League – No Senior action for the last few weeks as Leitrim prepared for their Connacht Championship game on Sunday next in Gaelic Park, New York. Best of luck to Damian and the entire Leitrim panel in what will be a very tricky assignment. Our Seniors return to action on Saturday week, May 13th, when Kiltubrid are the visitors to Dromod for a 7pm throw-in.

Underage News – Training will continue for all age groups on Saturday mornings at 10.30 am sharp. We are asking this year if all players could be there on time as it makes it easier for coaches for setting up drills.  Please also ensure your child wears a gum shield to all training sessions. If your child has not registered please contact Suzanne Maguire on 087 3898205 as we will need everyone registered for insurance purposes.

Leitrim Minors – Best of luck to the Leitrim minor team who take on Mayo in the 1stRound of the Connacht Championship on Wednesday at 8pm in Mc Hale Park. We are very proud to see the Club represented by Sean O Riordan and Shane Mallon. Go neirí go geal libh
