Allen Gaels GAA Club Notes 28/05/2018

Westlink Coaches U-15 Boys – The boys won an epic match against St. Marys in Carrick last Thursday evening on a scoreline of 5-15 to 2-16 in the 15 aside semi-final. This was a thrilling game between 2 well-matched sides and it was refreshing to see both teams exhibit high fielding, kick passing and great score getting. The game swung in favour of each side with St. Mary’s starting both halves strongly but ultimately the lads kicked on in the last 10 minutes with the game tied and we scored 1-08 to 0-01 in that period to ensure the win. We led at the break 3-05 to 0-11 with Radek finding the net twice including a well-taken penalty and Shane McKeon with another great finish. St. Marys scored 2-02 in the opening 6 minutes of the second half to turn the game again in their favour but we put in a great last quarter and once Ciaran McMorrow expertly found the net on 50minutes we never looked back.  Our scorers were: Ciaran McMorrow 1-08 (5f); Radek Oberwan 3-02; Shane McKeon 1-00; Conor Flood 0-03; Sean Lynch 0-01; Jamie McGrail 0-01. We now play Mohill in the final who have won all their games to date including a 1-12 to 0-10 win over our lads last week. The game is fixed for Friday 7:30pm in Pairc Sean so please turn out in good numbers to support the lads. Best of luck to Angus, Farrell and the squad.

Dunnes Bar Division 2 – We play Bornacoola in the next round of the league this Saturday evening at 7pm. The game will be played in Ballinaglera as our pitch has been seeded and will be unavailable for a couple of weeks. Best of luck to Sean, Paddy, Angus & the lads.

Swan Bar Division 3 – We travelled to Drumkeerin on Sunday to play the home side & came out the wrong side of the scoreline 0-13 to 0-10. The match did end in controversial circumstances as we scored a goal with the last play of the game but the referee blew the final whistle and the equaliser didn’t stand. We have no Div 3 game this weekend.
