Ballinamore Sean O Heslin’s GAA Club Notes 03/07/2018

Leitrim – Hard luck to the leitrim team and especially Dean Mcgovern and Matty Murphy, they and their team mates and management have put in a tremendous effort this Season and we thank them for their continued commitment and dedication to county football

Leitrim Minors – Well done to the Leitrim minors and our ownTom Prior and Francis McGovern who put in a great performance in the minor championship against Sligo winning by a score of 2:14 to 0:13, next up is a match against Galway away on Friday

Comhbhrón – Everyone at the club would like to pass on our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the late Colm Costello. Colm bravely fought a mighty fight over the last couple of years surrounded by his wonderful family and friends who supported him throughout this. His untimely passing will touch all of our hearts throughout the community and we ask all our friends to keep Colm and his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Rest In Peace

Dunnes ACL Division One – A great match in store for our senior team against our great rivals and neighbours Aughawillan on Saturday at 19:00. Your support would be greatly appreciated

St Felims Minor Ladies – Well done to the St Felim’s Minor Ladies who had a comprehensive win over Fenagh/Kiltubrid in the opening round of the Minor Championship. Next up, a home game vs Glencar Manorhamilton on the weekend of the 28th/29th July.

Division 2 – Well done to the division 2 lads that put in a great performance last Wednesday against Annaduff. Despite the good performance we were still unfortunately beaten by a very strong side with the final score coming in at 1:11 to 1:15. The lads were also in action on Saturday away to Glencar, it was a tough match and lads put in a good performance but were still on the wrong side of a 7:15 to 1:15 score line. These results leave the lads on 5 points in 9th place. Next up lads away on Saturday against Naomh Padraig Droim at 1130 in Ballinamore.

A Night Not to be missed !!!  Folks over the years the great and illustrious Tommy Moran has hosted some very exciting and memorable “This is your Life” nights and on Thursday the 12th of July Tommy will be back in action with the big red book surprising a local star of the town who shall remain secret till the event. This event promises to

Be a great night of entertainment and one not to be missed. The event is part of the Gerry Farry lord Mayor campaign for Ballinamore Festival with all proceeds going towards this years family festival. Tickets are 10euro and can be purchased on the night

U9 and Nursery – A Special well done to our u9 players who played at half time and had a fantastic day representing our club during the Leitrim Monaghan match. We must again thank Dean, Matty and all the Leitrim players for spending time with the our u9’s at the end of the match, despite the result they were happy to talk, interact and coach these future players. Special thanks also to the county board and Enda Lyons for organizing the day out for the young players, it will surely be something that will live long in the memory for them.

The work that Enda and the county board have done at underage level has been fantastic this year and hopefully this will bear fruit in the future.

Ballinamore Hurling – Well done to the U14 Ballinamore hurlers who made their Leitrim debut on Friday in Ballyhauis where they played Roscommon, Sligo and Mayo

We have 4 representatives on the team with Gavin D’Arcy, Kian McGovern, Senan McTague and Naoise McManus. It’s great to see such a great turnout from Ballinamore and special Congratulations to their trainers Neil Connelly and Paddy O’connor. A big thank you to Meadbh McTague who accompanied them up to Ballyhauis. Next up Croke Park Dublin very soon

Bootcamp for men and women – This fitness session is for all levels of fitness (as there will be hard and easy options given) starting today Wednesday at 7.30pm on Ballinamore GAA pitch. Want to get moving? Come to Ballinamore GAA gym Thursday morning at 10am and have a chat while you get your body
