Bornacoola GAA Club Notes 15/10/2018

County Finals – Our congratulations to Aughawillan on winning their 3rd county title in 5 years; commiserations to Mohill and best of luck to both Annaduff and Fenagh who face off in the Intermediate final replay this weekend. The referee on Sunday for that game was our own Kevin Mallon and he and his team of officials handled the occasion very well. Also well done to Eoghan Mallon and Lily Reynolds who flew the Bor flag proudly when they took part in the nursery parade and mini-gamess as part of County final day on Sunday. Meanwhile in Kiltubrid colours but as part of the same initiative, was Sam Conroy whose dad Brian continues to star for the Bors. Finally, the excellent County Final programme was compiled under the supervision of Leitrim PRO and Bornacoola club man Declan Bohan. Well done to you all.

Underage News – Our U9s took part in the end of season festival of fun in the centre of excellence this weekend. We played 5 very competitive games against Leitrim Gaels, St Mary’s, Fenagh, Mohill and Gortletteragh. Our players showed off all the skills learned during the year and we punched well above our weight in all games. Well done to all our players and thank you again to all the children and parents throughout the year for your dedication and support.

Spin the Wheel – Well done to Aidan Hanrahan from Banagher in Co Offaly who became our 3rdperson to be drawn to Spin the Wheel. The remaining winner will be chosen from those in attendance on the night itself – Sunday, Oct 28th in the Copper Still. After each player’s first spin, they will be given the opportunity to accept the prize they’ve won or to have another go and see can they better it. Music on the night with Ronnie D so it should be a great social night and one not to be missed!

Sympathy – Our deepest sympathies are extended to the friends and relatives of the late Kathleen O’Hara (Clonturk) who passed away last week. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sí.
