Michael Kenny U13 Tournament – Well done to St. Joseph’s (Arva/Killeshandra) who defeated Fenagh St. Caillin’s in the final of the Michael Kenny Tournament on Bank Holiday Monday last. Well done also to our own St. Joseph’s who defeated Colmcille/Dromard in the 3rd place play-off. The spectators were treated to a wonderful display of flowing football from all four teams. Thanks to our referees James McCaffrey and Patrick Guckian for officiating. Thanks to Paula Kiernan for the music and everyone within the club who assisted in the running of the event from setting up the pitches to helping with the food in the kitchen. All proceeds collected on the day were in aid of the Leukemia Trust with in excess of €1200 raised.

U15 Championship – Hard luck to St. Joseph’s U15’s who were defeated in the championship semi-final by Melvin Gaels earlier today. We got off to a terrible start, conceding 3 goals in the first 10 mins, but fought back admirably to level the game with 2 mins to go. However, it was not to be with our opponents scoring the last 2 points of the game. Final score: St. Joseph’s 3-08 Melvin Gaels 3-10. Well done to all the players for their commitment throughout the season.

Appreciation – Mary,  Collette,  Stephen,  Anthony, Darren and Ciaran Kenny would like to sincerely thank Carrigallen GAA  club John, Orla, Rory, Con and Bernie, Bridie and everyone who helped out to make the Michael Kenny tournament such a success and all their hard work in organising it. We like to thank the four teams Fenagh, Colmcille, St Joseph’s Aughavas /Carrigallen, and St Joseph’s Arva/Killeshandra for coming and Paula Kiernan for the music. And thank everyone for their contribution towards the leukemia trust  …  Thanks again
