Aughawillan GAA Club Notes 06/02/2019

Aughawillan Lights Up – Everyone is welcome, whether your aim is to get more active or to meet with your friends and neighbours more. Spread the word and bring a friend! Aughawillan Light Up takes place every Tuesday from January 15th until February 19th from 7 until 9pm with the hope that it will encourage all members of the community to socialize and stay active in a safe, bright environment.

Adults €25, Underage €10. Reduced membership fee for members of the Ladies’ Club €10. Membership of the club allows you full use of the gym and club room facilities.

Allianz Leagues 2019 – Well done to the Leitrim team who had their second League win in a row over Wicklow, with Aughawillan being represented by Mark & Gary Plunkett and Pearce Dolan. Score: Leitrim 1-16 Wicklow 1-12. Best of luck to the team and management who are playing Antrim in Pairc Sean McDiarmada next Sunday, 10th February at 2pm.

Underage Training – Training for u9s & u11s continues on Saturday from 4-5pm in the Sports Complex for the next 5 weeks.

Medal Presentation – The u15 St Brigid’s Boys team who won the League in 2018 & u12 St Brigid’s Girls winners from 2017 & 2018 will be presented with their medal on Saturday 9th February in Aughnasheelin Community Centre at 5pm. It’s a special occasion for our young players and we look forward to marking this special occasion with members of the Leitrim Senior County Panel from our club.

Cards – Games of 25 have resumed on Friday evenings from 8.30-10 at Aughawillan Clubrooms. Come along & bring a friend!

Dinner Dance – TIme to get the glad rags on for the Dinner Dance to honour the first Senior and Junior Championship double in the club’s history!  The dinner dance is being held on Saturday 9th March in the Slieve Russel Hotel. Music on the night! Tickets are €35 and will be on sale in the coming weeks. Referees Wanted –  Young people with an interested in GAA are being asked to give refereeing a go! Its an excellent way for anyone who doesn’t play to get involved & a good opportunity for students to earn some pocket money! Anyone interested in getting involved in refereeing please contact a member of the club executive to sign up for more information.

Corraleehan Parish Walk – Corraleehan Parish Walk continues each Thursday night at 8.30pm from Corraleehan Church. Community spirit, health, fitness, whatever your goals we will be happy to see you, everyone welcome.
