Gaeltacht Scholarships – Leitrim Co Board GAA is offering grants for attendance at Gaeltacht courses to Leitrim boys and girls as part of their promotion of an Ghaeilge. These grants are open to registered members of Leitrim GAA clubs, boys or girls.  Some of the grants are part-sponsored by Gaeltacht colleges. In the case of cash grants, when students return they can claim their grant money on production of evidence of having successfully completed the course.  Application forms can be printed from the Leitrim GAA website www.leitrimgaa.ie by searching Gaeltacht Scholarships 2018 or can be had had from the Secretary of any GAA club. Beidh na hiarratais le fáil i ngach meanscoil sa Chontae freisin. The closing date for applications is Friday 10 November 2017.

Under 17 Final

Well done our Under 17 team who defeated Annaduff in the Championship Shield Final on Saturday after a great performance.

U17 Shield Semi-Final

Well done to our Under 17 Boys team who defeated Dromahaire On Saturday morning last in Glencar to qualify for the Championship Shield Final. This will be played in Pairc Naomh Muire in Carrick on Saturday at 12 noon with Annaduff being the opposition.

U12 Skills Competition

Well done to Jack, Harry, Karl and Darragh who competed in the U12 skills competition in the Centre of Excellence in Ballyhaunis on Friday evening last.

Connacht GAA Bursary Awards 2017/18

Connacht GAA will award bursaries of €750 to students attending Higher Education colleges.  The scheme will be open to members of the Association who are attending a full-time Higher Education course and who are active participants in their Higher Education club. Students who hold other GAA-related or a college scholarship/bursary will not be eligible to apply. Connacht GAA welcomes applications from those students in our province, regardless whether their attendance is at a college inside or outside of Connacht”. A number of awards in each province will be reserved for those excelling in the areas of coaching and administration. Each bursary granted will be for €750 and payment will be made annually in two instalments of €375. Lucky First Score Competition

Last Man Standing Winners

After 12 gruelling rounds of GAA Championship it came down to the All-Ireland Final yesterday between Dublin & Mayo. The win for Dublin saw a share of the jackpot between John Hagan, Margaret Meehan, Pat Moolick, Mickey Earley and Niamh/Lauren Meehan. Each receiving €50. Thanks again to everyone for entering this competition.

Congratulations to Micheala Judge who represented Drumcong NS when she took part in the half time exhibition game at the All Ireland Final in Croke Park on Sunday last! Hope you enjoyed the experience.

 Intermediate championship

Well done to our Men’s team who retained their Intermediate status for 2018 after a hard fought win over Eslin on Sunday morning last. Best wishes on a speedy recovery to Barry Bohan who sustained a serious injury during the game.

Hard luck to the Under 15 team of Cill Mhór Gaels who were beaten by 2 points St. Mary’s Kiltoghert in the championship semi final on Monday evening last.

Intermediate Championship 

Kiltubrid played Carrigallen in the Intermediate championship on Sunday last. The game ended in a draw. Kiltubrid  1-13 Carrigallen 2-10. Next game is against Leitrim Gaels on Saturday evening next at 6.45pm in Páirc Seán.

Junior Championship

The next game in the Junior championship is against Carrigallen on Sunday at 12 noon. Venue to be decided.

All Ireland Success

Congratulations to our talented club footballer, Nathan Mahon, who had his other shoes on last weekend and was dancing in the Aldi Community games National finals in Dublin. He was accompanied by his sister Niamh and  Katie Scollan, and Brianna O Donnell and Ella Casey from Drumshanbo. They danced a superb set under the guidance of Edwina Guckian and brought the National title and gold medals back to Kiltubrid. What a great achievement. Other club footballers were also competing last weekend, Cian Mc Cormack in the U12 ball throw, Darragh Lee in the U12 600m, Fionn O Brien U16 1500m and Iarlaith O Brien in the duathlon. Whilst not among the medals, they put in fine individual performances and did themselves proud while competing at the highest level. Well done to all.

U17 Championship

Played Glencar Manor on Monday evening. Final score Kiltubrid 0-03 Glencar Manorhamilton 2-13.

The U13s play Dromahair at home on Thursday at 7pm.

Intermediate Championship 

Kiltubrid play Carrigallen in the next round of the Intermediate championship on Sunday next at 11am in Cloone.

Junior Championship

Round two of the Junior championship took place last weekend. Kiltubrid played Drumkeerin. Final score Kiltubrid 2-13 Drumkeerin 0-06. No junior game this weekend.

U17 Championship

Played Annaduff on Monday evening. Final score Kiltubrid 0-10 Annaduff 5-14. On Monday 21st August, there will be a game against Glencar Manorhamilton at home.

U15 championship

Cill Mhór Gaels played Fenagh last Tuesday. Final score Kiltubrid 3-11 Fenagh 1-11. Next up is Gortletteragh away on Thursday evening.

U13 championship

The U13s played St Josephs on Thursday last. Final score Kiltubrid 1-11 St Josephs 7-13. The next game is against Dromahair at home on Thursday 24th.

Intermediate Championship 

Kiltubrid played Mohill in the third round of the Intermediate championship last weekend. Final score Kiltubrid 0-18 Mohill 1-16. No intermediate game this weekend.

Junior Championship

Round two of the Junior championship took place last weekend. Kiltubrid played Ballinamore. Final score Kiltubrid 3-08 Ballinamore 2-17.

Family/Fun/Community Day

Kiltubrid GAA and Kiltubrid Ladies GAA are holding a Family/Fun/Community Day on the August Bank Holiday Monday 7th August in Pairc Cill Tiobraid from 4pm to 6pm.  This will be a day packed with Free fun activities and events for Kids both big and small.  Activities include Novelty Athletic Events for all Ages. Football Skills Challenge with Crossbar Challenge & Target Games.  Kids Obstacle Course, Rounders, Face Painting, Tug O’War. Well done to Cill Mhór Gaels on a good win over St. Josephs on Monday evening last. Final score Cill Mhór Gaels 3-14 St. Josephs 1-08.

The U13s played Fenagh on Thursday evening last. Final sore Kiltubrid 2-05 Fenagh 3-19. Next game is against Glen Gaels on Thursday evening at 7pm away.

Intermediate Championship 

Kiltubrid played Glenfarne Kiltyclogher in the first round of the Intermediate championship on Saturday evening last in Drumshanbo. Final score Kiltubrid 1-17 Glenfarne 0-04. The next round takes place on Sunday next in Ballinamore at 4.30pm and the opposition is Cloone. Please support.

Kelloggs Cúl Camp
Another very successful Cúl camp was held in the Allen Gaels pitch in Drumshanbo last week. A large number of children from the club attended and all enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Check out Kiltubrid GAA facebook page for many photos of the event.

Cairde Liatroma

Cairde Liatroma is a new Development Draw being organised to support Leitrim GAA and is similar to fund-raising ventures in many other counties.  Supporters of Cairde Liatroma are asked to make a monthly contribution of €10 by way of bank standing order, or a yearly contribution of €100. There are monthly draws for individuals and club prizes also. There will also be yearly draws with 5 club prizes of €1,000 and to individual prizes of €1,100.  If you or know someone who wants to support Cairde Liatroma can you make sure to nominate KIltubrid GAA as your designated Club.
