National Draw – The National draw tickets are on sale locally from committee members, senior players and local Businesses. They cost €10 each with fantastic prizes. Carrick Hurling – The club wishes Liam, Colm, Enda Donal Moreton, Mark Breheny, Stephen Goldrick, Declan Deegan and Carrick Hurling team and management the best of luck in the All Ireland Club semi-final against Castleblaney take Sunday next in Cusack Park Mullingar at 2pm. It would be great to see as many of our supporters to cheer the team on. Carrick Hurling has asked as many people in the area to put out flags in support of the team. Underage Training – It is hoped to start back training 22nd January, the league for Under 13 & 17 provisionally starting 16th February.

Leitrim Supporters Club – The Launch of the 2019 Leitrim GAA Supporters Club will take place on Thursday 17th January in Croke Park commencing at 7.30pm. All are welcome to attend.

Underage Presentation – The underage presentation of medals to the Under 13, 15 and 17 teams took place on Saturday last in the clubhouse. The medals were presented by Aidan Flynn and Colm Moreton. The under 12 team were runners-up in the Longford/Leitrim League. The under 13 team were runners-up in the 15 aside Championship after being unbeaten in the round robin stage. The under 15 team won the 15 a side Leauge Shield. The under 17 team won the 15 Division 1 Championship Shield Final. Well done to Donal Casey who received the Under 17 player of the year. Thanks for Marty Costello on supplying equipment for the night. Thanks to all those that helped make the night.

Leirim Gaels Community Field Lotto – There were 2 draws held in the last few weeks. On the 18th December, the Christmas draw was held in Donnellan’s. There was no Jackpot winner. Winners of €50 each were Isla Treacy Drumshanbo, Evelyn Doran Finisklin, Padraig Sweeney Drumshanbo and Eileen Murray Waterfront Apartments. The winners of Bottles of Whiskey were Eileen Murray Waterfront Apartments and Maura Guckian Kiltoghert. The first draw of 2019 was held on 2nd January in the Leitrim Inn. There was again no winner of the Jackpot. Winners of €20 were Isla Treacy Drumshanbo, Peter Keaveney Ballinaboy, Jimmy&Thomas c/o Gerry Spellman, Brian Marian & Alan Carty Drumshanbo. The next draw is on the 15th January in Donnellan’s with a Jackpot of €7550.

Leitrim Community Facilities – The Leitrim Community facilities National Lottery Scheme draw for the paid-up members was held on 23rd December after Mass in St Joseph’s Centre. Leitrim Seniors – Leitrim senior team hard-fought game coming from 9 points down to finish level in the FBD league on Sunday last against mayo. They lost on 4-1 on a penalty competition to decide on the result. We wish our own club player Aidan Flynn a speedy recovery after his knock on Sunday.

Carrick Hurling – Carrick Hurling all Ireland Club semi-final takes place on Sunday 20th in Mullingar. It would be great to see as many of our supporters to cheer the team on that has six players from Leitrim Gaels. Lotto – The Leitrim Gaels Community Development Lotto Draw was held in the Leitrim Inn on the 4th December. The numbers drawn were 4.6.10,26. There was no jackpot winner. The €20 winners were Sean McGovern Drumshanbo, Holly Lupton Kilclare, Padraig Sweeney Drumshanbo, Bobby Lupton Kilclare. The next draw is the Christmas Draw which will be held in Donnellans on 18th December. The Jackpot is €7450. There will be four prizes of €50 plus spot prizes.

Festival 2019 – On Monday the 19th of November at 8:30pm Leitrim Community Festival are holding a meeting in St Joseph’s Church Hall, Leitrim Village inviting locals to make proposals on how to fill a weekend with events to make August Bank Holiday weekend a special event next year. There are already events planned but there are opportunities for local groups to hold fundraisers or events to promote themselves over the weekend. We hope that anyone with a suggestion attends. Meeting is open to everyone. Hope to see you there.

Connacht Champions – Congratulations to Stephen Goldrick, Mark Breheny, Liam, Colm, Enda and Donal Moreton along with Declan Deegan and the Carrick hurling team won the Connacht junior hurling final on Saturday against Galway’s Ballygar. They will now play in Ulster Champions in the All Ireland semi-final in the new year.

Festival 2019 – It is planned to hold a Community Festival in Leitrim Village next August Bank Holiday Weekend (2019). We are holding a meeting in Leitrim Gaels Community Field Clubhouse tonight, Wednesday at 8pm. We are inviting anyone who has ideas of what to include in the weekend program of events to please come to the meeting. The plans for the festival are already well on the way, but any local groups can have a massive input and the organizers hope as many people can attend as possible. All profits raised from this festival will be going back to local group

Kiltubrid Lip Sync –  Kiltubrid Lip Sync is in The Landmark on Nov 17th in aid of their Park Development plan. They are looking for acts to participate, the acts can be one to twenty people.  The event is being run by a professional team of dancers and choreographers. Practice next 3 Saturdays in Cardiff’s Lounge Drumcong. Each act gets a 20 min slot with the team between 10am and 12pm. At the start of the show on the night, there’s a group performance by all acts- this will also be factored into practice.  Kiltubrid are seeking acts from neighbouring clubs to participate. Having been good supporters of Leitrim Gaels over the years anyone that is interested please contact Aine on  0872544388. As far as fundraising goes, it is minimal for the acts at this stage, it is about the participation and support of the event as part of the Park Development plan.

Hurling Final – well done  to Liam, Colm, Enda and Donal Moreton, Mark Breheny and Stephen Goldick who were part of the Carrick Hurling team who won the championship fnal on Saturday last I Ballinamore. Well done to Stephen who was awarded the man of the math. Again best of luck to the team in the Connaught championship against Sligo Champions CooleraStrandhill which takes place on Monday next in Pairc sean at 2pm.

Congratulations – Congratulations to Aaron Mc Loughlin on being voted Leitrim New York player of the year. Aaron will be presented with his award at the Leitrim NY GFC dinner dance in Rosiie O’Grady’s on December 8th.

Intermediate Championship – The intermediate were defeated in their semi-final against Fenagh on Saturday last in Pairc Sean. Well done to all the players on a superb run through the group stages. They have one league game left to play against St Marys. Thanks to the management team of Mal, Peter and Bobby for having the team in such good fitness. Thank you to the supporters who were behind the team all year and let their voices be heard. Best of luck to Fenagh in the final.
