Underage DVDs – Under 13 and 17 county final DVD’s are available to purchase from Bernie Goldrick or Mark Chandler. Relive the success of our underage teams over the Christmas.

Scor – Well done to our Figure dancers Nicola, Lauren, Kayla, Willow, Anna and Ruby and to our Solo Singer Johnny who all proudly represented the club in the Scór an nOg Leitrim Co. Finals in Ballinamore on Sunday last.

Race Night – Leitrim Gaels annual race night is set to take place on Saturday 27th January 2018. This is the clubs biggest fundraiser of the year. Horses are now on sale from club members. Anyone wishing to sponsor a race should contact Mark Chandler or any committee member.

Player Pathway – The Player Pathway has been launched recently and the club is seeking members for Underage committee nominations. If you have any questions please contact any committee member.

5k Run/Walk – 5K Run/Walk in aid of the IHCPT on St Stephens Day, race starts at 12 sharp. Registration is from 10.30am to 11.40am at St Joseph’s Hall, Leitrim Village.  The organising committee is looking for stewards to do marshalling on the day and volunteers for registration and timekeeping. All are welcome to participate.

Club Meeting – Club meeting to be held on Friday 29th December at 9pm in the clubhouse. All welcome to attend.

Merry Christmas – We wish all our members, supporters and sponsors a very happy and peaceful Christmas and prosperous new year. Many thanks to anyone who helped out in the club over the past 12 months it is much appreciated and will hopefully continue into 2018.

Community “Stroll” in Aid of St Vincent de Paul – At 11am on St Stephen’s Day everyone is invited Run, Walk or Stroll from the Community Centre, Kinlough around the  Barr Road and return to the Centre. All players, young and not so young and all club members are as asked to come along and join in. Proceeds in aid of the Local Vincent de Paul. Suggested donation €5. Refreshments afterwards.

Scór na nÓg – Well Done and a big “Thank You” to Hannah Feeley who represented Melvin Gaels in Scor na nOg in Ballinamore. Hannah did a lovely recitation of Ireland’s Child. Thank you to all who offered to participate and hopefully next year we will have more Melvin Gaels representatives.

National Club Draw – The National Club Draw tickets are now on sale. This Draw is an opportunity for our club to raise much-needed funds. Melvin Gaels will retain all the proceeds raised through the sale of our tickets and all national prizes are provided by Ard Chomhairle. There are now 20 amazing prizes on offer, with the top prize of a new car!

We will also have a local draw done in advance of the national draw for any tickets sold by Melvin Gaels.

St. Stephen’s Day Walk – We are organising the annual St. Stephen’s Day Walk in the woods in Glenfarne at 12noon. All donations on the day go towards the underage in the Club. All support would be greatly appreciated. Anyone willing to help to steward or in any way possible on the day please contact Éilis McGourty.

Sympathy – The club extends its deepest sympathy to the Keaney family, Brockagh on the death of Rose Audini, London and to Oliver Fitzpatrick and family Manorhamilton on the death of Oliver’s brother Martin. May their gentle souls rest in peace.

Function – We will hold our annual awards night on Friday 29th December in Ketty’s at 10pm. We will hold a table quiz on the night to raise funds for the club. All players, members and supporters and their families are welcome to attend what promises to be a good night of entertainment and fun.

Scór na nÓg – Well done to the club team that took part in the Scór na nÓg county final in Ballinamore on Sunday 17th of December! The team performed well in the competition.

Volleyball Winners – Well done Cian Gibbons, Diarmuid MacThiarnan and Peter Winters who won the All Ireland Schools Senior Final today with Drumshanbo Voc School. Great to have all Ireland winners within the club!

Calling all poker players – There is a fundraiser for the club taking place over the Christmas. This event takes place in the Lakeside Tavern on December 28th at 9:30. Make sure to show up for a great night’s Craic and a chance to win some money to help pay for the Christmas presents.

St Stephen’s Day Charity Game – Our annual Charity game is taking place on the 26th (St. Stephens Day). This year we have changed the theme to our more experienced players taking on our younger players. This year we are donating all the money from this event to the Simon Community. This is a great cause that we are hoping to have big support for. So please let’s have big numbers to support the elderly and the youth of the club in this epic battle.

Seasons Greetings – Finally we want to wish all our supporters, friends and neighbours a very Merry Christmas from all at the club!

SCÓR NA NÓG COUNTY FINAL – Well done to our 24 St. Mary’s participants who competed so brilliantly at the Leitrim Scór na nÓg County Final on Sunday. The hard work paid off because everyone that performed did so superbly.

We came away with four titles including The Figure Dancing consisting of Emma Morgan, Áine Morgan, Nicole Glancy, Grace Duignan, Rhianna Ward, Kaneisha Beirne, Sienna Beirne and Amelia Zawadzka. Recitation: Michael Connorton. Ballad Group: Ava Brogan, Roisin Noone, Elsie Harman, Eleanor Smith and Rionach Nic Conmara and finally The Instrumental Music Group consisting of Ava Brogan, Roisin Noone, Emer Kavanagh and Niamh Kavanagh.  Well done also to Kathy Butler who acted as Bean an Tí on the day, Kathy did an excellent job, putting the young contestants at ease and keeping the shown running to time. A big thank you to Laura and Claire Crossan also for all their hard work, time and dedication in ensuring that all participants are well rehearsed for Scór each year.

Michael and the three winning groups will go on to represent Leitrim at the Connacht Scór na nÓg Final in Claremorris on Sunday 14th January.

SANTA VISITS THE CLUBHOUSE – Once again Santa’s visit to the Clubhouse was a great success. A lot of work goes into organising the big day and thanks so much to everyone who helped in any way.  Most of all thanks to you the parents and children for coming out in huge numbers and making this such an enjoyable evening. Special thanks to Santa also who listened to all sorts of requests for the big day, we’re sure he won’t disappoint.

BERNARD MURRAY 5K MEMORIAL RUN/WALK – The Club will hold a 5K memorial run/walk on Saturday 30th December at 12.30pm in memory of the late Bernard Murray. Registration from 11am at the clubhouse.  Please save the date in your diary and come out and make it a really special event for Bernard.  All proceeds raised will go to one of the many charities that Bernard was involved in.

SOCIAL NIGHT – We are having a get together in The Barrelstore on Friday 29th December at approx 9pm where we will hold the raffle from the OsKaRs Sponsorship Cards….1st prize: 2 Tickets for All Ireland Football Final 2018, 2nd Prize: 2 Tickets for All Ireland Hurling Final 2018 and 3rd Prize: 1-night break at Titanic Hotel, Belfast.  This promises to be a great night and a chance to catch up with friends and family home for Christmas.  It’s also a chance for all the actors and actresses to meet up again.

MERRY CHRISTMAS – As 2017 draws to a close, may we wish all our members, players, administrators, supporters and their families wherever in the world you may be a very Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year and extend a special Thank You to all for your contribution to Naomh Mhuire Kiltoghert during the year. We look forward to 2018 with great hope and anticipation after what has been a very positive and enjoyable year for the club both on and off the pitch. We also said goodbye to some great Club people during the year and they and their families are very much in our thoughts especially at Christmas time.

LEITRIM GAA AWARDS – Congratulations to Tom Guckian who has won the Jim Lynch Hall of Fame Award, Micheal McWeeney on winning the Senior County Player of the year, Paul Keaney, County U16 Player of the Year and James Glancy, County Hurler of the Year. They will receive their Awards at the Awards night on Saturday, February 4th.

Leitrim u21 Championship Final – Commiserations to the Fenagh/Gortletteragh team who lost put to St Manachans in Saturday’s u21 final on a scoreline of 1.08 to 1.11. They finished strongly but were just unable to get the vital scores to win or to take the game to extra time. Congratulations to St Manchan’s.
Lotto – Fenagh St Caillins latest lotto draw took place on Sunday night last. There was no winner of the €2000 jackpot. Winner of €20 in the draw for yearly ticket holders was Adam Gill, €20 winners on the night were Shannon Kilkenny, Paddy Gaffney and Ray Tubman. The next draw takes place on St Stephen’s Night in Majella’s Bar when there will be extra prizes to be one for Christmas.
Congratulations – Well done to Senior player Diarmuid McHugh on winning a Connacht Inter-firms title with Vistamed. It’s been a busy few weeks for Diarmuid following his marriage to Eimear in November. He’s obviously been working on his scoring also as he chipped in with a goal in the closing stages of the game. He could be looking at a move into the forward line in 2018. Congratulations also to the Beirne family from Mohill on winning the title of Ireland’s fittest family.
Indoor GAA/PE – training for boys continues in the Fenagh Handball Alley on Tuesdays. Boys born in 2011 or more recently (U6s) but in primary school can attend from 6:30 until 7:10.Those born in 2008, 2009 or 2010 (U9s) are there from 7:15 until 8:05.


National Club Draw 2018 – 
Members of the Fenagh St Caillins Club will be calling to houses in the Parish with tickets for the National Club Draw over the next week or so. All the proceeds of tickets sold by the Club are retained by the Club and will help with the day to day running of all Club facilities and activities during 2018. The tickets cost €10 each and as always your continued support is very much appreciated.

Scór na nÓg – Well done to Isabelle McAllister who performed in the solo singing and was very unlucky not to take the County title in a very competitive group which was won by Mohill. Our other two acts were unable to perform due to the change of date. Thanks to them for putting in the preparation and to Lorraine Sweeney for her musical help. Next up is the county quiz taking place on Sunday 7th of January, we will have a team taking part. Colin Smyth Ballyduff was part of our quiz team last year and we sympathise with him on the death of his Granny Kathleen Smyth who was buried last Sunday RIP. Sympathy to all the Smyths and extended family.

Referee Positions – The County Board would like to recruit new referees in 2018.If this is something that is of interest to you this is a great opportunity to get involved with full training provided. Anyone interested in trying it out please contact Chairman Michael Quinn.

Merry Christmas – Season’s greetings to all who represent and support our club. We extend good wishes and sincere thanks to John Connolly, Philip Rooney and Willie Donnellan in the Leitrim Observer for all their coverage of our games during 2017.

Match for Mark – Please keep St Stephen’s Day free as we will join up with our friends in St Mary’s GAA Club Sligo for our Match For Mark in the memory of the late Mark Rooney who represented both clubs. The theme this year is Linking the Ages. At 1pm St Mary’s vs Glencar/Manorhamilton (Selection of players from 2007-2017 roughly!!!!). This will then be followed by a short exhibition game where the St Mary’s and Glencar Manor U8, U10 and U12 teams will display their skills for all to see. The finale will see all the “Golden Oldies” dust down their puma kings and battle it out for 30 mins. Refreshments will be available in the clubhouse, with all live horse racing and premiership matches on the TV!!! There will be a bucket collection on the day with all monies raised going to charity. Last year’s game was a fantastic occasion and we hope to see you all again this year.

Leitrim Senior Club Hurler of the Year – Our club is delighted and honoured that Kevin Clerkin has been chosen as the Leitrim Senior Club Hurler of the Year. Kevin’s talent is recognised throughout the county and beyond and this award is a glowing testament to that. He had a fantastic season for Cluainín Iomaint and the Leitrim Hurlers which involved a memorable outing in Croke Park for the Lory Meagher Cup Final. Comhghairdeas leat a Caoimhín.

Lotto – Our last Lotto draw took place in Biddy’s Bar. Numbers drawn were 1, 6, 12, 28. There was no winner of the jackpot of €2,800. Five consolation prizes went to Carla Nealon (Yearly Ticket), Ryan Feely C/O Declan Feely, Margaret McDermott Manorhamilton, Mark Usher Enniskillen and Felim Gurn Manorhamilton. Many thanks to everybody for their continued support. The jackpot now stands at €2,875 and we will also have some extra prizes for our Christmas Draw taking place this Saturday 23 September in SuperValu.

Christmas Cheer at our Academy – We were reminded again last Friday night of how VERY, VERY Special our Academy is when Santa visited to give each child a small gift in recognition of all their hard work throughout the season. This is undoubtedly one of our favourite events of the year. It is so rewarding for us to watch the children grow and blossom in our care. Thank you to all the parents and coaches who make this possible. WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER and long may an occasion like this last.

National Club Draw Tickets – The club has an allocation of National Club Draw tickets. 20 Fantastic prizes on offer with first prize a car. Ireland’s Fittest Family – Congrats to the Beirne Family on winning Ireland’s Fittest Family. They were a credit to Mohill and Leitrim.

Texas Hold Em – There will be a Texas Hold Em Poker night in the Clubhouse on Thursday, December 28th. It’s €20 to play and there’s a €10 buy back. Start time is at 8pm sharp and you can register from 7.30pm. Refreshments will be served on the night and all are welcome!
Charity Game – We will be holding a charity game in our Club Grounds on St Stephens’s day at 2pm – all adult players past and present are welcome and proceeds raised on the day will go to the North West Hospice. Club Draw – Tickets 2018 Tickets for the 2018 Club Draw are currently available from Club members and once again for just €20 you are guaranteed entry in all 12 monthly draws. Referees – Leitrim GAA are currently looking for new referees. If you are interested in representing the club as the man in the middle, contact Kevin Mallon on 086 3048757 and arrangements can be made for completion of the Foundation level course.
Membership – Membership for 2018 is now open – Adult Playing Membership (which includes Gym access – Ladies, Men and Mothers and Others)) is €100 (€40 for Students), Non-playing members – €20, and non-playing membership (with gym access fee) – €100. Membership can be paid to Brian Mallon or Damien Mc Guinness.

Aughawillan GAA Christmas Poker Classic – Aughawillan GAA will be holding their Annual Christmas Poker Classic on Friday 29th December in The Ballymac Inn.  50/50 prize money.  Entry fee €20, €5 buyback. Refreshments will be served on the night.  Start time 9.30pm
