| Developments in Leitrim GAA |
The future looks bright for Leitrim GAA as we have now the new 3,000 seat stand in Páirc Seán. This facility replaces the existing dressing room and press area and provides much needed improved facilities for both spectators and teams alike.
The stand is, in effect, on three levels with the seats covering the ground level and first floor.
Underneath both of these seated levels, there's a comprehensive layout of state of the art facilities. Click here for a detailed description and 3-D view of the new stand.
How much will it cost? approximately €3 million. €1.7 million of which we must raise ourselves
When will it be developed? Development work commenced in September 2006 and the Stand was opened by GAA President Nickey Brennan on 24th June 2007.
How will the stand project be funded? Leitrim County Board are undertaking a comprehensive fund raising campaign ("Get on the team" Campaign) for the Stand project which was launched nationally over the October Bank Holiday weekend in 2006. This campaign is seeking individuals who are willing to make donations and take their place on various teams of 15 players. Each team will have its 15 players named on a unique plaque which will be displayed in a prominent position at the entrance to Páirc Seán Mac Diarmada. Note that there will be a limited number of teams and plaques.
The teams will be divided into 6 categories Gold, Silver, Bronze, Green, Yellow and White. A position on the White team costs €1,000 however as this whole project is subject to Tax Relief and if the donor pays tax at 41% then the donor must only pay €590 and Leitrim County board will claim the remaining €410 on the donors behalf from the Revenue commissioners bringing the overall contribution to €1,000.
Corporate and Self employed donors are entitled to claim the amount donated as a tax deduction.
To date we have raised a fantastic €870,000 using the "Get on the team" scheme.
Please help us to raise the final amount of €500,000 by December 2007.
How ? If 500 Leitrim supporters (who are in the 41% tax bracket) make a donation of €590 each (which would translate into a donation of €1,000 with tax break) then we would have the stand paid for and we could then focus on the new Centre of Excellence at Annaduff. Please "Get on the team" and help build the future of Leitrim GAA - if you want to donate please contact your local club organiser for further details or click on the links below.

What else is the Development Committee working on? We are currently working on exciting plans for a new county training facility in Annaduff. This project will not commence until the stand facility is completed.
External facilities include all-weather training pitches, a sprinting track and an handball alley. The indoor facilities include dressing rooms, treatment areas and weights room. Click here for a detailed description.
