St Manchan’s Under 21 – A Ballinamore side that was dictating play for most in this Under 21 game on Saturday in Pairc Philib, had to go home pointless when Evan Harkin scored a great goal in the last few minutes. Connacht Club – Mohill played one of their best performances of the year on Saturday last when they came up against a strong Castlebar team in McHale Park. Unfortunately, Castlebar were the winners on the day but Mohill put up a great show and the sides were level going into the last quarter. It was a great experience for our boys and they can build on it in the years to come.

Into the West – We were treated like royalty by the officials in Castlebar on Saturday. There are no VIPs in that Club, Martin Carney was selling coffee and Willie Joe Padden- the Maradona of Gaelic football in the 80s – his wife was dishing out the grub. John Maughan was also there sending best wishes to Gerry Flanagan.

Acts of kindness – We thank our main sponsors Lough Rynn Castle for once again treating the Management, Panel and Officers to a substantial breakfast on Saturday morning before the game. Martin Moran then sponsored the meal for all in Castlebar. And on the way back we were invited to the Landmark Hotel where Ciaran and John Kelly had finger food and a drink for everyone in the audience.

The players – This bunch of players has given so much happiness to the town over the past three years. They have been a great example to all the young underage players and in all the celebrations following their victories, their conduct has been exemplary.

Padraic Davis – Alas this was Manager Padraic Davis’s last game in charge of Mohill Seniors. Padraic and his team of Pete, James, Ian and Gavin will be hard replaced. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you Padraic and wish you success wherever you choose to go.
