St Patricks GAA Club Dromahair – Celebrity Bainisteoir

St Patricks GAA Club Dromahair –

Club Notes

Good Friday

The team got a great send off on Friday from the Park. Thanks to everyone who came along especially all our younger supporters who took park in a training session with Katherine and our team.

Celebrity Bainisteoir

Our involvement in Celebrity Bainisteoir gets better and better. The semi final last Saturday in New Inn, Co. Tipperary against Andrea Roches Rockwell Rovers proved to be another historic day for our club. By wining the game we have now reached the final which takes place on Friday 8th of May in Parnell Park in Dublin. Our team produced another battling display and were pushed hard all the way by a committed Rockwell Rovers team. The second goal proved to be the turning point and the cheer that went up when it was scored confirmed the huge support e had at the game. Well done to Katherine, Mickey and the team.

Rockwell Rovers

As well as our victory one of the other main talking points of the weekend has been the reception we received from Rockwell Rovers. Everything for the game was organised brilliantly from parking, stewards to refreshments. The Rockwell club had food for everyone after the match with no charge. Our club would like to thank everyone in New Inn for making us feel so welcome and the Rockwell Rovers club for all the work they put in to make the day such a great occasion.

Support

On behalf of the club I would like to thank all our supporters for travelling to the game and all those who have put out flags and banners. All the players have told me how delighted they were to arrive in New Inn before the game and see such a huge crowd from Dromahair. The cheer after the second goal really lifted the team and spurred them on to victory.

Club Social

The club held organised a club social Easter Sunday night in the Clubhouse Bar. Music was by DJ Baldy Mick. Thanks to everyone who supported the night. Thanks to Patrick Hugh and Ann for letting us use their premises and also for providing a meal for the team when they arrived back in Dromahair on Saturday night.
