The cameras were in Dromahair on Sunday 1st Feb. all day to film training in the park and also interviews with the players. Mickey Quinn was also introduced to the team as Mentor. The cameras will return to film training on Sunday 15th Feb, Sunday 22nd Feb, and Sunday 1st March. The cameras will be filming around the village and in local schools on Friday 6th of March before the team depart for Dublin at 2pm. The Cuala club have organised a lot of activities on the day of the match. Our ladies team will play Cuala ladies at 11.30 before the Celebrity Bainisteoir match and our junior team will play their juniors after the match. During the day there will also be bouncy castles, face painting and loads of other entertainment. After the match Cuala have organised an Apres match hosted by Des Cahill.
The Cuala club are organising a program for our Celebrity Bainisteoir match and we have to put together some articles for it. If anyone wishes to submit something for the program please let me know. We are also looking for adverts for the program and if any local business wants to place an advert they should contact a member of the executive.
We are holding a social night in conjunction with Celebrity Bainisteoir on Saturday 7th of February in the Clubhouse Bar. Music will be provided by Vivian OLoughlin. The club will be making presentations to our Club President Josie Torsney and Vice Presidents John Madden, Terry Leyden and Teddy Loughlin on the night. Club player of the year for 2008 will be announced on the night. Our new club crest will also be officially launched. The cameras, Katherine Lynch and Mickey Quinn might be there on the night so hopefully all our supporters will come along.
St. Brigids Visit
Next weekend members of the St. Brigids club in Dublin will be visiting Dromahair. They will be arriving on Friday night and playing us in a challenge match at 2pm on Saturday and Im sure well see them all in the Clubhouse Saturday night.
The Members Draw for January will take place as well on 7th of Feb in the Clubhouse Bar. Anyone interested in joining the draw can contact a member of the club executive. To join the draw it costs EUR20 per month, and members are entitled to full club membership and entry in a monthly draw for EUR750 in prizes.
Intermediate Team Manager
The club is delighted to have appointed Brendan Greene as our Intermediate teams Manager for the coming season. Brendan comes with a very impressive CV and everyone involved with the club wishes him and the team the best of luck for 2009.
We have ordered some new club tops and jackets with our new crest; these will be available to buy local shops along from next weekend.

Tickets are now on sale locally for the Leitrim Supporters Club 2009. Tickets can be brought from Jim Meehan, Kevin Torsney, Hughie Clinton, Sean OHara, Eoghan Sweeney. Please support the county team especially with Paddy McGowan on the panel.
