Club Grounds of the Year Bornacoola were presented with an award for best club grounds in Leitrim 2017 at the Connacht GAA Presentation night on Friday last. Well done to our hardworking park committee and to all who supported our new development this year and our thanks to Connacht GAA for supporting us in this venture; we hugely appreciate this recognition at the end of the process.
Pride of Place – Well done to all those involved in putting together Bornacoola’s entry in the Pride of Place Awards in 2017, including the GAA club and a host of other local bodies led by the Bornacoola Community Development Association. At Saturday night’s awards in Letterkenny, the parish was named as 2nd overall in Ireland, an incredible achievement for the area.
Hurling initiative – The children in Scoil Mhuire are currently participating in a new 6-week Cumann na mBunscol initiative, in conjunction with Leitrim GAA Coaching and Games Development, to make the game of hurling more accessible to children in the county. Well done to all involved and in particular and to our own teachers who have taken on the coaching roles as the initiative is rolled out. Maith sibh go léir.
