Ballinamore Sean O Heslin’s GAA Club Notes 17/05/2018

Oughteragh Gaels League Champions – On Saturday last our ladies team successfully overcame St Francis to be crowned Division 2 league champions. The first half was a close encounter with the teams very evenly matched, our girls went in athalftimee down one point: 1-7 to 1-6. However the second half the ladies came out fighting and really stepped up their work rate and effort. They showed real determination and teamwork to level the game and to go on and take the lead which they never lost in the second half. A phenomenal save by goalkeeper Chloe Harvey halted any sign of a St Francis’ comeback and drove the girls on to victory. The 60minutes of football showed a great mixture of leadership from the more experienced players combined with the enthusiastic youthful players. Special mention towards the management team of Rory O’Rourke and Tommy Dolan for their sustained encouragement and belief in this dedicated groups of girls. Congratulations to all involved.
