Vhi Cul Camps Application Forms.
Application forms have been delivered to all Schools this week and we would ask all parents to please fill in your form and return same promptly as we have to order the kits and we don’t want to disappoint any child. Their will be two camps in Carrick on Shannon this year to help parents who are away on holidays while their camp is on. The National launch of the Vhi Cul camps will take place this Thursday in Croke Park, with the Provincial launch taking place in Ballyhaunis on Monday 14/05.

Hurling Training Sessions.
Kevin Brisco will conduct training sessions with each of the hurling clubs, commencing this week. Kevin will be calling on clubs every two weeks and will work with all age groups. We have also organised hurling only, training camps, for the month of August and clubs should ensure that all of their young hurlers attend these camps.

Under 14 Hurling Blitz
A hurling club blitz at under 14 level will take place in Ballinamore on Saturday next. Blitz will commence at 11am and clubs are asked to be ready to start on time. This is the first of our hurling blitz and we will be running blitz at both under 12 and 16 over the course of the summer.

Transition year course
This course piloted last year in Mayo, and introduced to all Connacht counties this year has proved a great success with the three Leitrim schools, St. Clare’s PPS Manorhamilton, Drumkeerin Vocational school and the Marian College Mohill, who run a transition year programme. Well done to all who took part and to the Transition year coordinators in each school for all your help.

Under 14 School of Excellence.
All clubs will be contacted this week with a request to forward the names of players who they feel are up to the standard for this squad. Clubs will be asked to limit the number of names submitted to a maximum of three.

Coaching course certs
All coaches who completed either Foundation level or Level one during 2006/2007 will be forwarded their certs in the next few weeks.
