Leitrim Sports Star Awards
Time is running out to nominate your sports stars for the “Leitrim Sports Star Awards” which will take place on 26th November 2010 in the Landmark Hotel, Carrick on Shannon.
You can nominate your sports star by completing the nomination form. The categories are: Sports Individual Junior, Sports Individual Senior, Disability Sport Volunteer of the Year, Best Sports School, Sports Club of the Year, Team of the Year, Community Club Volunteer of the Year, Special Achievement Award, Exceptional Services to Sport, Hall of Fame and Leitrim Sports Person of the Year.
The closing date for receipt of nominations was this Friday, 8th October 2010 but has been wxtended for a further week.. Nomination forms are available to download from www.leitrimsports.ie, and are available from a number of locations throughout the County – Carrick on Shannon: Leitrim County Council, the Landmark Hotel, Aura Leisure Centre, Mulveys Newsagents. Mohill: Pauls. Carrigallen: Centra. Ballinamore: Supervalu. Drumshanbo: Gibbons Centra. Dromahair: McGoldricks. Drumkeeran: Lough Allen CDP. Manorhamilton: McCormacks Filling Station, The Bee Park. Kinlough: Noel McGowans Spar.
Nominations will be shortlisted by a guest panel of judges to three per category. The winner in each category will be announced on the night. Each winner will receive a specially handcrafted award, crafted by a Leitrim artist presented by each of the sponsors. The generous sponsors include – Leitrim County Council, The Landmark Hotel, Cora Systems, Leitrim Development Company, Masonite Ireland, Aura Leitrim Leisure, Leitrim Tourism, Woodies DIY, Leitrim Enterprise Fund and Lough Rynn Castle Estate & Gardens.
A special night of celebration is planned by Leitrim Sports Partnership with a delectable 4 course meal being served, followed by the awards and brilliant live entertainment by Gobsmacked. MC for the evening will be 2FMs and Leitrims very own Paddy McKenna.
Tickets for the Leitrim Sports Star Awards are priced at a very reasonable €35. Tickets can be purchased from Leitrim Sports Partnership at the main reception of Leitrim County Council, or at any of the venues mentioned above from which you can also get the nominations forms.
