Schools of excellence/ Development squads
Our under 14 school of excellence travelled to Monaghan on Saturday last and had an excellent workout with Monaghan with the game ending in a draw. Following a busy schedule over the last few weeks there will be a break this weekend. Next session will be on Saturday 13th.
The game planned for last weekend had to be postponed due to weather but it is hoped to play Drumkeerin U-16s on Saturday next in Drumkeerin commencing at 11.00 am.
All players except those involved in the U-16 semi-final are asked to attend in Drumkeerin at 10.30am.
Next group session for the U-17 squad will take place on Sunday November 21st.
Child Welfare & Protection Courses
We have now completed the four regional child welfare & Protection courses and would like to thank and congratulate all those who took part. Club officers should ensure that all personnel, working in any capacity no matter how small, with underage teams complete this course. A maximum of 18 people per course means that most clubs should hold a course for themselves.
Please note the course taking place on this Thursday evening, November 4th in Drumreilly hall is fully booked. This course will commence at 7pm.
Our first award 1 course will take place in Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada over two weekends, Friday 12th & Saturday 13th and Friday 19th & Saturday 20th November. The new award 1 course is divided into three distinct strands, Child, Youth & Adult. Coaches must decide which strand they wish to complete and confirm this when booking for the course. Coaches wishing to attend must have foundation level completed and will be required to register for the course by Friday November 5th at the latest as places will be limited. The cost per person attending is €50. Subsequent award 1 courses will be scheduled depending on demand.
