OSKARS LAUNCH NIGHT:

A big thank you to everyone who came along on Friday evening last & made our OsKaRs Launch night such a success. After much anticipation and speculation, it was revealed that the 7 Films are:
The Field
Forrest Gump
Bridesmaids
Rocky
Fawlty Towers
The Snapper
Father Ted

70 different character roles were allocated on the night and it was obvious that some people were absolutely made for the roles they were given. The hard work has already started, with 1st rehearsals starting last Saturday morning. We hope all our actors & actresses are excited about their roles.

Thanks to MC John Lynch who was excellent & kept us laughing throughout the evening.

Also, a big thank you to The Landmark Hotel for hosting us on the night and for all the attention to detail and ensuring that the whole evening ran so perfect.

COMMUNITY GAMES:

A huge congratulations to Carrick Area U10 boys who won The All Ireland Community Games Final in Abbotstown on Saturday last.  They played two very competitive games beating Clane by a goal in the semi-final and then going on to beat St. Patricks from Cavan by 2 points in the final. This talented group of boys had representatives from St. Mary’s, Leitrim Gaels, Annaduff, Allen Gaels and Shannon Gaels and have shown a huge level of commitment over the last number of months and this would not be possible without the encouragement and support from their parents which has been evident throughout.

Thank to everyone who travelled to Abbotstown on Saturday last to support the boys and to watch them bring home another Community Games All Ireland Title to Leitrim. Thanks also to all those who came out in large numbers to welcome the boys home and to make it a very memorable and special occasion for them, one they will never forget.  Commiserations to St. Patricks whom we beat in the final, they too are a very talented group of young boys with a bright future ahead of them.
