Bornacoola GAA Club Notes 02/10/2017

Golden Goal Draw

Well done to Jack Mc Keon, Liscloonadea, who was the winner of the €500 first prize in the All Ireland Final Golden Goal Draw. Son James and daughter-in-law Deirdre were on hand to pick up the prize on Jack’s behalf on Saturday night after the draw in the Brandywell.

Ladies News

Bornacoola/St Mary’s Ladies travelled to Elphin at the weekend to play Tulsk in the Connacht Junior Championship. Unfortunately, the ladies suffered a very heavy defeat to the Roscommon champions who proved significantly stronger all over the field. Next year the girls will move up a level to participate in the Intermediate championship and despite Saturday’s result, they will be happy to have won a Junior Championship at the first time of asking.

Club Draw

The Club Draw took place in the Brandywell on Saturday night last – our thanks to Gerry and staff for a great night and to Seamus Mallon who was the draw coordinator on the night as well as to our ticket sellers.  Winners were; €100 Aidan Dockery, €20 each to Patricia Bohan, Margaret Faughnan, Liam Mulligan, Noel Mc Closkey and Josephine Mc Gushin

Underage News

The last training session of the year took place on Saturday morning last and our youngsters turned out in huge numbers to enjoy the end of year party. The Underage Committee would sincerely like to thank all parents for bringing their children to training sessions and matches throughout the year and a special word of thanks goes to all of our coaches for their professionalism and commitment throughout the year, and of course to our catering committee who kept us everyone fed and watered every Saturday. Maith sibh go léir.
