Ballinamore Sean O Heslin’s GAA Club Notes 17/01/2018

Scór na nÓg – A massive well done to Connacht Scor na nóg winners Danny Smyth, Colin Smyth, Dillon Beirne Tom Prior and James Og Maguire, the lads did us proud in Claremorris at the weekend securing the title, they were behind by 1 going into the last round and won by 1 mark after 80 questions. They now go forward to the All Ireland in Sligo IT on 17th Feb. Special thanks to their tutor Sean Ó Súilleabháin for his help & knowledge prior to competition and a special mention also to Brid Sullivan for all the work she has done behind the scenes helping to get the club ready for the Scór competitions.

Strictly Come dancing DVD Night – Thanks to everyone that attended @Priors on Saturday night for our very successful DVD launch night special thanks to Gay and Staff for as always providing us with the use of his excellent venue for the night

Leitrim Supporters Club Launch – This year’s launch takes place on Thursday the 18th at 1930 in the Celtic Suite in Croke Park, this years event is one not to be missed with former Ballinamore and Leitrim legend Columba Cryan being recognised for his historic railway cup win which took place in 1958, 60 years ago this year, Columba will be recognised along with two other Leitrim legends Paddy McGarty and Cathal Flynn. Another draw on the night will be Marty Morrisey who’s currently taking part in Strictly come dancing, Marty will be interviewed by former Leitrim star Colin Regan, hopefully a few of you will travel from Ballinamore for this great night and you will be able to cheer on Columba and pass on a few tips on dancing to Marty.

Comhbhrón – Everyone at the club would like to pass on Our deepest sympathies to Sean Ó Súilleabháin and all his family and friends on the passing of Sean’s father, Frank who passed away Sunday evening just two weeks short of his 100th Birthday. Our prayers go out to them all at this difficult time Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilís Improve your Irish

Ciorcal Comhrá – Irish conversation classes, or Ciorcal Comhrá, are currently taking place in Ballinamore Library on Tuesdays,at 8.00pm. There are separate groups for relative beginners, for those who have some Irish and for those who are fluent. These classes are a great opportunity to practice the Irish you know and to improve it.
