Bornacoola GAA Club Notes 27/02/2018

Club Draw – Our thanks to all who supported the Club Draw in the Copper Still on Saturday night last and to Derek for sponsoring two spot prizes and providing bites for those in attendance; ticket sellers were Pat Farrell and Kevin Mallon. Winners were: €100 – John O’Rourke, Stonepark €20 – Kathleen Canning, Patsy Connaughton (Ballinamore), Conor Hackett, Tony Bohan and Ailbhe Mc Gill. €25 Copper Still Gift Voucher – John Mc Gushin; Bottle of Wine sponsored by the Copper Still – Padraig Reilly.

Newtowngore Engineering Minors – Rinn Gaels recorded their first victory of the league campaign on Saturday morning last when they proved too strong for Annaduff, winning on a scoreline of 1-3 to 0-6. Dromahair provide the opposition next weekend in Dromod at 12noon on Saturday. Team at the weekend was Jake Shields, Tom Reel, Conor Niblock, Brendan Davies, James Doyle, Odhrán Heslin (0-2), James Cunningham, Oisín Niblock (0-1), Mark Reynolds, Sean O Riordan (0-6), Shane Reynolds, Andres Bacco, Jamie Quinn (1-4), Subs used were Sean Og Hynes, Ciaran Mc Glynn, Ryan Cunningham and Shane Mallon.

Challenge Game – Our thanks to St Michael’s for providing the opposition for an entertaining challenge game in Dromod on Sunday morning last. Another heartening pre-season performance from a young Bornacoola team and hopefully a sign of things to come ahead of the league season

Leitrim GAA – Tickets for the Leitrim GAA supporters club are currently on sale priced at €50 each – there is a huge range of prizes including a €5000 top prize and a trip to New York for the big game in May. Well done to Damian Moran and his colleagues on an excellent victory over Limerick on Sunday; meanwhile Michelle Hackett and Alison Mc Keon both starred for the Leitrim ladies in the league recently. Well done to you all.

Swan Bar Division 4 – Our Junior team get the season underway this Saturday afternoon when they travel to Cloone to play the hosts. Throw in 4.30pm.

Sympathies Our sympathies are extended to Brian and Aine Hall (Knockhall, Rooskey) and to the many friends and extended family of young Liam Hall who passed away last week. Ar dheis láimh Dé go raibh sé.
