Allen Gaels GAA Club Notes 23/04/2018

Swan Bar Division 3 – We played out an entertaining draw with Annaduff on Saturday evening in the park on a scoreline of 1-10 to 0-13. We played catch up for most of the game and trailed 0-09 to 0-04 at the break and trailed by 0-13 to 0-08 with time almost up but a late scoring burst in injury time rescued a point. Ciaran Walsh with a penalty and Bryan Beirne hitting a great equaliser with the final kick.

Newtowngore Engineering U-17 League – The U-17’s were well beaten by St. Marys in the league semi-final on Tuesday of last week. St. Marys were clearly a stronger team but the lads had to play 4 U-17 games in 7 days as well as a schools match and fatigue was certainly an issue. Well done to Mickey, Fergus, Noel and the team on their performances.

Westlink Coaches U-15 League – The boys kick off their campaign at home to Leitrim Gaels this Friday evening at 7pm. Best of luck to Angus, Farrell and the squad.

St. Francis Ladies – The ladies had a narrow win over Drumkeerin on Sunday in Ballinaglera. Best of luck to Paul, Gareth & the team in their remaining matches.

Underage Coaching – The Saturday morning sessions are back in the park on Saturday mornings at 10am for boys U-7 to U-11 & girls U-7 to U-12.

Kellogg’s Cul Camps – Please note that the summer coaching camp takes place in Drumshanbo from July 9th – 13th.

Mothers and Others – Gaelic Football training has resumed on Wednesdays in The Mayflower at 8pm. Anyone with an interest in learning new skills or those who may have played previously are welcome to join. It’s a great opportunity to get fit, have fun and make new friends! All are welcome.

Lotto – There was one winner of the lotto jackpot on Monday of last week so congratulations to Sue O’Donoghue from Keshcarrigan who scooped the €4,000 jackpot – the winning numbers drawn were 02-09-10-19. The 5 prize winners of €20 each were: Jim Casey, Keadue; Alan Foley, Carrick Road; P. O’Reilly, Clondalkin; Dolores Matthews, Keadue and Aoife Heeran, Drumshanbo. The jackpot now stands at €1,000.
