Bornacoola GAA club Notes 14/08/2018

Senior Championship Our Senior Championship campaign continued on Saturday last when we faced Glencar/Manorhamilton in Ballinamore. The Bors played some good football in the opening period but went in at half time 1-10 to 0-7 in arrears. As the second half progressed however, Manor began to exert their dominance and ran out comfortable 2-22 to 0-10 victors at full time. No game this weekend as the action switches to the Junior B Championship

They are now guaranteed a home semi-final – fixture details to follow.

Junior B Championship The Junior B Football Championship gets underway on Saturday evening next for Bornacoola as we face Dromahair in Drumshanbo at 7pm. After a good league this year, the Juniors will be hopeful of making further progress in this competition.

U12 Ladies Well done to our under 12 girls who qualified for the Shield final in Dromod this evening against a very gallant Carrick team. The girls started the game very strong and held a commanding half time lead. But credit to Carrick they fought back in the second half and it took some excellent defending from our girls to ward off the comeback and come away with a well-deserved victory. They can now look forward to the final in the coming weeks. Well done girls!

Congratulations Our congratulations to Shane and Lorraine Conroy on the birth of twins on Friday last – a boy and a girl to be named Emily and Liam.
