Minor Championship – Rinn Gaels take on Melvin Gaels in the Division 2 Championship final in Páirc Seán on Saturday next at 12noon. Best of luck to all involved and in particular Bornacoola’s Shane Mallon, Sean O Riordan, Jake Shields, Ciaran Mc Glynn and James Doyle.

U-13 Championship – Our u13 boys played their championship football with Gortletteragh this year and were involved in a pulsating campaign a notable feature of which was the closeness of the matches. In fact several of the games were too close to call entering the last quarter.Over the course of the league stage we managed to win six of our seven games our only loss was by the minimum margin. This qualified us to a semi-final vs. St. Brigids where following a very tense and at times hard-fought battle we emerged victorious by one point to set up a final vs. Ballinamore SOH in Cloone last Saturday. In a tremendous game of football, which was a credit to both teams, Gortletteragh prevailed following a very brave and courageous performance. A huge thank you to all of our supporters for the whole year. The u13 panel was David Liu Doyle, Tommy Reen, Luke McManus, Jonathan Boyle, George Glaze, Nathan Ryan, Jack Reynolds, Matthew Davis, Oisin Maguire, Riaghan Ward, Adam Reen, Noah McNulty, Jack Gannon, Aaron Carney, Senan Woods, Ryan Fanning, Ultan McNulty, Brian Liu Doyle, Ben Cunningham, Ollie McManus and Ryan Egan

Ladies Intermediate Championship – The St Mary’s/Bornacoola Ladies completed their group matches on Thursday evening last as they recorded their third victory in the series with 3-11 to 0-10 victory over Mohill in perfect playing conditions in Aughavas. Two well-matched teams played an excellent hour’s football and at the final whistle, it was the goals that proved the difference. Our girls took their goal chances well and staunch defending from a tight defence ensured that the Mohill attack was denied a major during the contest. Goals converted by Sara Crowe and Alison McKeon ensured that the girls held a 2-7 to 0-7 lead on the changeover as the match flowed from end to end. The pattern of the second half was very similar as the girls added 1-4 to their tally and held the opposition to 0-3 to copper-fasten the victory. Both sides will have to do it all over again as they are scheduled to meet in the semi-final knockout stages and we wish the girls the best of luck as they face off with Mohill which will be played on Sunday next in Annaduff at 2.30pm. In action on Thursday last in what was a fine all-round performance by all nineteen players were: Kathy Butler, Cora McCauley, Jasmine Maye, Hannah Reynolds, Enya Guckian, Lorraine Guckian, Emily Reynolds, Alison McKeon (1-0), Kasey Bruen, Rachel McGarry, Sara Crowe (1-1), Lisa Guckian, Sarah Reynolds (0-1), Kelly Howard (0-5), Hannah Farrell (0-3), Lauren Hackett, Ellen Woods, Isabelle Chandler and Hannah Bird (1-1).
