Glencar/Manorhamilton GAA Club Notes 03/10/2018

Junior A Championship Final – All roads lead to Ballinamore this Saturday evening as we take on neighbours Glenfarne Kiltyclogher in the Junior A Championship final at 4.30pm.  We ask all club supporters to make the journey in support of our team.  Good luck to the players and their management team of John, Sean and Dermot.

Senior Championship – Commiserations to our Senior team who were beaten in the Senior Championship semi-final by Mohill on Saturday evening in Páirc Seán.  We were beaten by the better team, no complaints on the day.  We would like to thank our team and management for their dedication and commitment to training during the season.  They have given us so many good days and they will rise again.  We congratulate Mohill and all the teams who have reached the Leitrim championship deciders.

Injured Players – We extend get well wishes to our three senior footballers Gerry Hickey, Brian McDonald and Adrian Croal who picked up injuries in the last number of weeks.  Their absences were felt on Saturday evening.

Manorhamilton Enterprise Town – What a super time we had at the Manorhamilton Enterprise Evening hosted by Bank of Ireland.  Many thanks again to the fabulous Rita in the Manorhamilton Branch for inviting us to be part of this special occasion in our community.  Our U11 team who graced Croke Park at the Connacht Go-Games received their Certificates from Nathan Carter and we were honoured to meet the legend and gentleman that is Marty Morrisey. He visited our stand, took an interest in our new pitch development in Boggaun, congratulated us on being involved in the GAA Healthy Clubs Project and he even bought a few tickets for our Club Lotto! What more could you ask for!

Minor Ladies – Congratulations to our Minor Girls team who claimed the Minor Shield title defeating St Brigid’ in Ballinamore on Sunday last.  The winning captain Kate Johnston was delighted to accept the Shield on behalf of her team-mates and expressed special thanks to Tommy, Martin, Dolores and Christine for mentoring the team all season.
