Aughawillan GAA Club Notes 14/01/2019

Aughawillan Lights Up – The GAA, in conjunction with Operation Transformation, aim to promote exercise in the safe environment of the local GAA pitch. This year, Aughawillan are taking part in the ‘Ireland Lights Up’ programme, by turning on the lights at the football field, every Tuesday from 7 until 9, for the next five weeks (January 15th until February 19th). We hope this encourages lots of members of the community to come out and stretch the legs after a long winter. Everyone is welcome, whether your aim is to get more active or to meet with your friends and neighbours more. We hope as many people as possible take this opportunity to stay active & social as Spring approaches! Spread the word and bring a friend!

Adults €25, Underage €10. Reduced membership fee for members of the Ladies’ Club €10. Membership of the club allows you full use of the gym and club room facilities. 

Referees Wanted –  Young people with an interested in GAA are being asked to give refereeing a go! Its an excellent way for anyone who doesn’t play to get involved & a good opportunity for students to earn some pocket money! Anyone interested in getting involved in refereeing please contact a member of the club executive to sign up for more information.

Cards – Games of 25 have resumed on Friday evenings from 8.30-10 at Aughawillan Clubrooms. Come along & bring a friend!

Comhghairdeas – Congratulations to Gary Plunkett who is being presented with Club Player of the Year 2018 Award at the county board dinner on January 25th. If you are interested in attending, tickets are €30 and available from Michael Quinn.

New Arrival – Congratulations to Mary & David Tully on the birth of their son, Charlie and to Declan & Grainne McBrien on the birth of their daughter, Eabha.
Comhbhrόn – Aughawillan GAA expresses their deepest sympathies to the family & friends of the late Mary Ellen Flynn (nee McKeon), Aughacashel.

Save the Date – The Dinner Dance to celebrate winning the Senior and Junior B Championships in 2018 is provisionally set for Saturday 9th March in the Slieve Russell Hotel. More information to follow!

 
Corraleehan Parish Walk – Corraleehan Parish Walk continues each Thursday night at 8.30pm from Corraleehan Church. Community spirit, health, fitness, whatever your goals we will be happy to see you, everyone welcome.
