Bornacoola GAA Club Notes 13/05/2019

Intermediate Team – Our thanks to Colmcille for providing a very energetic challenge for our intermediate team on Sunday morning last. We return to Division 2 league action this Sunday morning when Glencar/Manorhamilton are the visitors to Dromod. Throw in will be at 12 noon. Best of luck to all involved.

Sympathy – Our deepest sympathies are extended to Basil and Christine Shanley, and to Mark, Caitriona and Ruth on the tragic passing of Francis in Sydney last week. Francis emigrated to Australia a number of years ago and was very well known among the Irish emigrant community having lived in many different cities on the continent. While in Darwin he was involved with the GAA club there and although he didn’t play much while at home, he always retained an interest in football and great pride in being from Leitrim and Bornacoola. Francis was due to get married in August to Fiancé Broc Nicholson. To her and to his huge circle of friends both in Ireland and Australia, we extend our deepest sympathies. Ar dheis lámh De go raibh sé.

Leitrim Wall – The Leitrim Wall is currently under construction at the Centre of Excellence on the N4. You can show your support by purchasing a brick in your name or to dedicate to a loved one. All funds raised will go to the completion of the Centre of Excellence and to coaching and games development initiatives in the County. The Wall and Centre of Excellence will be officially opened this September, so there are only a couple of weeks left to get involved. Further details are available on www.leitrimwall.com where you can log on and buy a brick or alternatively, contact area co-ordinator Kevin Mallon (086 3048757) and he can arrange on your behalf.
