Intermediate Team – The intermediate team recorded their first victory of the year when they came from behind to overcome a strong Glencar/Manorhamilton in Division 2 on Sunday last. Played at a sunny Dromod, a first-half goal from full forward Anthony Mulligan helped the Bors settle into the game but a glut of missed chances meant they led by just a single point at half time. An early second-half goal from Ronan Mulligan appeared to put the Bors in the driving seat but Manor enjoyed an excellent spell of dominance in the middle period of the half, scoring a goal of their own and moving two points clear with just eight minutes remaining. However, a great Bornacoola move that culminated with Cian Mallon flicking the ball to the Manor net restored the home side’s lead and in a frantic finish, the Bors kept their nerve and a well taken Liam Jones point put the issue beyond doubt as Bornacoola held on for a 3-8 to 1-10 victory. This Sunday Ballinaglera are the vistors to Dromod for a 2pm throw-in. Team on Sunday was Daniel Farrell, Kevin Mulligan, David Mulligan, Damien Mc Guinness, Allan Croghan, Jason Conroy, Mervyn Howard, Cian Mallon (1-0), Liam Jones (0-1), Liam Mulligan (0-1), Conor Mc Cauley (0-2), Ollie Vaughan (0-1), Sean O Riordan (0-1), Anthony Mulligan (1-1) and Ronan Mulligan (1-2). Subs were Robert O Beirne, Luke Jones, Gearoid Mulligan and Conor Hackett.
Best Wishes – Our best wishes for a speedy recovery to Kevin Shanley who suffered a bad injury during the warm up before last Sunday’s game. Also to Luke Jones who is heading to Canada for the summer. Hopefully we’ll see both men back in the Black and Amber before too long.
Club Draw – The Club Draw for May took place on Saturday week last in the Copper Still. Our thanks to Derek for hosting and Bobby for supplying the music. Winners were €100 Mary Shanley (Annaduff), €20 Kieran/Anne Staunton, Mary Mulligan, Noel McEnroe, Peter Shanley and Jamie Mc Peake.
Dressing Rooms – The recent refurbishment of the Home Dressing room in Dromod has been hugely appreciated by all our players. The project was completed largely through voluntary labour – over 300 man hours were put into the job and for that we are hugely thankful to the Park Committee and all those who were involved but particularly Vinny Canning, Tommy Larkin, Noel Mc Closkey, Aidan Hackett, Tom Duignan, Sean Mc Cauley and Noel Carr. Míle buíochas daoibh go léir.

Congratulations – Our congratulations to former player MJ Winters and wife Hele who celebrated the birth of their second child Alice recently. MJ starred for the Bors on their march to the 2008 County final. The recent baby boom in Clonboney continued apace too with the arrival of baby Devin Tom to Selina and Gary Sutherland and baby Darcie to Susie and Owen Atkinson. Sisters Selina and Susie (Shanley) are former players with the club and Selina continues her involvement as our chief physiotherapy consultant. Congratulations to you all.
