Annual Christmas Draw – The annual Aughawillan Christmas Draw will be held in the Viking Lounge on Saturday 5th January. Christmas Poker Classic – Aughawillan GAA will be holding their annual Christmas Poker Classic on Thursday 28th December in the Ballymac Inn. €20 entry fee, €5 buy back. Junior Championship – Congratulations to the Junior team and managers Pat Flanagan & Pat Joe McNiffe on winning the Junior B Championship final last weekend. There was a great display of football put on by both teams, in particular, by many of our younger players who were outstanding all over the field. Well done to Peter Prior who won Man of the Match. A massive thank you to the big crowd that came to support the team on the day & see our captain Michael Prior lift Aughawillan’s second trophy of the year! Leitrim Sports Star Awards – Best of Luck to the Senior Team & Mark Plunkett who are both nominated for awards in the Leitrim Sports Star Awards, in the Senior Team & Senior Sports Individual categories respectively. Help build the “Leitrim Wall” – This fundraising initiative by Leitrim GAA seeks to complete a wall of messages and support visible from the N4 at the Centre of Excellence in Annaduff. There are options from €250 up to €3,000 which allow you to purchase a brick or stone in the wall with a personal message which can been seen and inspire future generations of Leitrim footballers. Senior Championship – One week on from the County Final victory, the celebrations are winding down and preparations are focused on the Connacht Championship. Members of the team visited Aughawillan NS with the cup to inspire the younger generation last week & DVDs of the final are available to purchase for €10 each. Senior Championship – Aughawillan: Leitrim SFC Champions 2018! Congratulations & well done to all the players, management and backroom team who brought the Fenagh Cup back to Aughawillan for the 3rd time in 5 years! It was a massive achievement for the club who were the underdogs to beat one of the best teams in the county. With Mohill in the lead into the second half, they held their nerve and came out winners by 2 points, for captain Sean Quinn to lift the cup. Congratulations to Gary Plunkett who was Man of the Match and scored 5 points on the day. Aughawillan GAA would like to thank all the supporters from far and wide who sent good luck messages to us in various forms over the past couple of weeks from all over the world! Senior Championship – Leitrim SFC Final – Aughawillan v Mohill, Pairc Sean MacDiarmada, Sunday 14th October at 3 pm –  Pairc Sean MacDiarmada is the place to be next Sunday as Aughawillan take on the defending champions, Mohill, in the Leitrim Senior Football Championship Final. With only a few days to go, there is plenty of blue & yellow and lots of artwork to be seen in all corners! A big thank you to all those who came to the pitch on Sunday and took the opportunity to offer support & encouragement.
