Sean MacDiarmada Boxing – We extend a huge thank you to the Sean MacDiarmada boxing club for holding an exhibition in the Rainbow on Sunday afternoon. A huge thank you to The Holy Family Boxing Club Drogheda and Ballinacarrow Boxing Club for travelling to Glenfarne also. Boxing Tournament – Sean MacDiarmada Boxing Club are holding a boxing tournament in The Rainbow on Sunday at 3pm. They will fight Holy Family Boxing Club from Drogheda. All funds raised is going to ourselves and Glenfarne Development. Please come out and show your support to these young boxers. U9 blitz – Well done to our U9 team who played Garadice Gaels on Saturday morning. Thanks to Garadice Gaels for the refreshments after the game. The U9s have a bye this weekend. There next game is 28th April at home to Drumkeerin.

Family Walk – We had to cancel our family walk on the New Leitrim Greenway on Easter Monday due to a clash with the Easter Egg Hunt in the Glenfarne Woods for Ceoltas at 12noon.

Hurlers – The club extends good luck to the Leitrim Hurlers against Lancashire in the Division 3B final in Ballyconnell on Sunday at 12noon.

Sam Maguire Cup – The Sam Maguire Cup made a visit to St Michael’s National School in Glenfarne on Wednesday last! Thanks to principal Josephine Gallery for inviting the club committee, players & supporters along to share in the fun on the day. It was wonderful to see longtime club supporter & former player Tommy McManus & his granddaughter Katie who wrote 2 Dublin GAA asking if Sam could visit the school carry the cup into the school! It was a fantastic occasion that will live in all the kids’ memories for many years to come!

Membership – club membership is now due! €25 for adults €10 for children or €50 for the family membership! Monies can be given to Éilis McGourty, Joe Keaney or Assumpta Clancy.

St. Stephen’s Day Walk – We are organising the annual St. Stephen’s Day Walk in the woods in Glenfarne at 12noon. All donations on the day go towards the underage in the Club. All support would be greatly appreciated. Anyone willing to help to steward or in any way possible on the day please contact Éilis McGourty.

Function – We will hold our annual awards night on Friday 29th December in Ketty’s at 10pm. We will hold a table quiz on the night to raise funds for the club. All players, members and supporters and their families are welcome to attend what promises to be a good night of entertainment and fun.

Strictly Come Dancing – The club would like to thank the organizing committee of strictly come dancing which took place over 2 nights on the October Bank Holiday Weekend. They organised a wonderful weekend of great entertainment. Thanks to all those who supported the event. This was a great community event and we hope you all enjoyed it. A huge thank you to the volunteers who helped out before, during and after the shows. Of course, this would not have happened if we did not have our dancers. A huge thank you to all our dancers who gave of their time to practice since the beginning of September. We are truly indebted to you for giving your time and support to us and to the National School and the Rainbow. We hope the dancers are enjoying the rest!

Baby News – Congratulations to Siobhan and Stephen Sweeney, Glenfarne on the recent birth of their baby girl Aoife and to Sean and Alaine McLoughlin, Manorhamilton on the birth of their baby girl Gwen.
Engagement – Everyone involved with the club congratulates club stalwart Michael McGuire and Paula Kelly on their recent engagement.
Strictly Come Dancing – The club in conjunction with St. Michael’s National School & Glenfarne Development are running Strictly Come Dancing in The Rainbow Ballroom of Romance on the 28th & 29th October. The club has a number of representatives most notably adult footballer Tommie McManus, U13 Manager Ian Cullen and club secretary Éilis McGourty. We hear preparations are going well for all participants who hail from Blacklion, Belcoo, Manorhamilton, Dromahair and of course Glenfarne and Kiltyclogher. Tickets are €15 and are available from all footballers, committee members and from Clancy’s in Glenfarne, McGriskins Kiltyclogher & The Market House Craft Shop in Blacklion.
