Allinaz Cumann na mBunscoil: Well done to St.Michael’s National school boys who won their Division 5 shield final against Gael Scoil Chluainin on Saturday last in Pairc Sean. St. Michaels’s girls, having given it their all, fell a little short on the day in the Division 4 final against Aughnasheelin.  Thank you to all who helped out or came out to support this great bunch of kids who were a credit to their school and community. A special word of thanks to Joe and Noel Cullen and Eilis McGourty for their tireless work with the underage players throughout the year.
Swan Bar Junior A League – Our Junior team lost by the slimmest of margins to table toppers St. Mary’s on Saturday evening in Glenfarne. It was a great evening for football and both teams served up an exciting and genuinely competitive match which was pretty much in the balance until the final whistle. We have no game this coming weekend.

Under 9 – Well done to our under 9 team who took part in the blitz tournament in Manorhamilton on Saturday morning, against Glencar Manor and Drumkeerin teams. It was a very well organised event with all the kids enjoying themselves and getting lots of game time. Well done to all concerned.
Swan Bar Division 3 – Our Junior A side suffered a heavy defeat away to a strong Ballinamore side on Saturday evening last in the league. Yes, we had a few players away on the day but we can have no complaints about the result. We never really got going and were second best from the start. We have no game this coming weekend.
Connacht Championship – Hard luck to the Leitrim senior team and management on their defeat to Roscommon on Sunday in Hyde Park. This comprehensive defeat was especially difficult to take from a Leitrim perspective following our great run in the league. However, we look forward now to the qualifiers and, hopefully, a favourable draw.
Swan Bar Division 3 League –  Following a heavy defeat to Drumkeerin at the weekend,  we take on Fenagh on Saturday at 7pm in Glenfarne. All support greatly appreciated.
Club Lotto – There was no winner of this months lotto Jackpot. The winning numbers were 9, 11, 25 and 34. A consolation prize of 20euro  went to Tony McGourty of Glenfarne, with two 10euro prizes going to Frank White and Dermot O Rourke. Well done to you.
Social Dance – A further reminder of the Old Time Social and charity dance in the Kiltyclogher Community Centre on Saturday, May 11th. All proceeds are in aid of the Gerard Gallagher Memorial Defibrillator Fund. Music is by Paul McManus and Bernie Kelly Country Roads and dancing is from 9pm to 11.30pm. Admission is 8euro.
Friday Night Lights – Well done to Aaron Fee, Patrick Gilgunn and Dylan Kilkenny on taking part in the recent Friday Night Lights initiative at the Centre Of Excellence in Annaduff, where the club also won coaching equipment. A huge thank you to Stephen McGurrin, Enda Lyons and Sean Gallagher from  Leitrim GAA Coaching for facilitating this. Thanks also to the parents involved for their great help in organising this.
Division 4 Final – A bus from Glenfarne to Croke Park for the Div 4. final against Derry will leave The Rainbow at 10am on the morning of the final. Tickets are 12euro per adult/child return. U16s must be accompanied by an adult. To book a seat contact Mary on 0873340002 or 0879108749.
Sympathy – The club would like to extend sympathy to Fergus and Elaine Burns and the Clancy family on the death of Kate Clancy, Glasgow. Also to Seamus McSharry and family on the death of his sister in law Loretta McGlinchey, Donegal.  May they Rest In Peace.

Leitrim Seniors – TheLeitrimm senior team make their way to Celtic park in Derry this Saturday afternoon for the  penultimate game of their successful 2019 Div. 4 campaign. Please note that the throw in has been moved to 4pm from the previously advertised time of 5pm. Best of luck to Terry and the lads in this one.
Tickets for Div. 4 Final – Tickets will go on sale for the division 4 final on Monday 25th March and can be got through the county Secretary in the Pairc Sean office OR  on-line. The seating for the final will be unreserved in the Hogan Stand on a first come, first served basis. Any queries regarding tickets should be addressed to Eilis McGourty.
U13 League: Our under 13s came up a little short against a strong Leitrim Gaels team at the weekend. Best of luck next time.
Lotto Results – There was no winner of the lotto jackpot this month. Winning numbers drawn were 7, 15, 22 and 28. A consolation prize of 20euro was won by Noel Scott, Sligo, while Paddy Meehan of Kiltyclogher and Frank White, Glenfarne, each won 10euro. Thanks to all who bought tickets for the draw, and to those who sold them. Your commitment to Glenfarne Kiltyclogher is much appreciated.
Junior A League – Our first outing in the league campaign proved to be something of a wake-up call resulting in a heavy defeat away to Allen Gaels on Saturday afternoon. We can make all the excuses we like, a gale force wind, injuries and absentees, the time of year etc. but in the end we were beaten by a much better side on the day. There’s only one way to go from here. We have no match this coming weekend.
U13s – Our under 13s lost to Melvin Gaels at the weekend after a much improved performance by all accounts. Keep it going lads!
Leitrim Senior Team – Well done to all involved with the Leitrim senior panel on gaining promotion to division three following a great win over London on Sunday at Pairc Sean. This much deserved achievement comes about after many years of hard work and effort and is all the sweeter for that. We can all look forward now to a great day out in Dublin for the Div. 4 final.
Swan Bar Division 3 – Our league campaign begins this Saturday, March 3rd, away to Allen Gaels. We wish the lads the very best in their endeavours for 2019. All support is greatly appreciated.
Barna Recycling U13 League – Our u13s came out second best to a strong Aughavas outfit on Sunday last in Aughavas. Keep the heads up lads and the results will come.
Membership is due for 2019 – This is especially important for players as it ensures insurance cover for the year ahead. Please make every effort to sign up promptly.
Leitrim – Well done to Leitrim Seniors on their massive win against Limerick on Saturday last in Kilmallock. Promotion to div. 3 will be all but assured with a win against London this coming weekend. Best of luck lads!
Sympathy – Glenfarne/Kiltyclogher GAA would like to extend its sincere sympathy to the Keaney family, Glenfarne village, on the recent passing of Kitty. She will be sorely missed. May she rest in peace.

Leitrim Sports Partnership Awards – Thanks to all those from the club who attended the Leitrim Sports Partnership Awards on Saturday night in The Landmark Hotel. We were delighted to receive club of the year along with South Leitrim Special Olympics. It was a lovely way for our players and committee to be recognised for the hard work put in throughout 2018.

White Collar Boxing – The night is nearly upon us. This Saturday night the boxers who have been training hard over the last two months will take to the ring. It all kicks off at 8pm in the Rainbow Glenfarne. Tickets can be purchased from Dolan’s of Dowra, O’Rourke’s Spar, Dowra, Clancys of Glenfarne, McGriskin’s Kiltyclogher, Gabriel’s barbershop Manorhamilton and MacManus Pharmacy Manorhamilton. Connacht Championship – Our Connacht Junior Club Championship preliminary game takes place on November 3rd against Easkey in Avantcard Pairc Sean MacDiarmada at 2pm. We hope to see a big crowd at the game to show your support to the lads!

Dinner Dance – We will be holding a dinner dance this year to honour our Junior Champions. It takes place on Saturday 5th January in The Rainbow Glenfarne. More details to follow in the coming weeks.

Junior A Champions – After 27 long years, we have been finally crowned Junior A Champions once again last Saturday evening in Ballinamore. As always, it was a titanic battle against our neighbours Glencar/Manorhamilton but we eventually crossed the line and deservedly lifted the Dick Ellis Cup. It is a remarkable achievement considering that we were barely able to field a team to compete last year. A huge congratulations and thank you to Joe Keaney, Dermot O’Rourke and Michael McGuire for all their hard work over the last year in guiding this team to the final. We appreciate the sacrifices you and your families have all made to make this success happen. To each player on the panel, we thank you for your commitment and determination in bringing success back to the club. After years of heart break and the loss of our beloved players, you have brought such joy and hope back to the parishes of Glenfarne and Kiltycogher. For that, we are forever in your debt. Commiserations to Glencar/Manorhamilton who were very gracious in defeat – we wish you every success in the future.

Thank you – The players, management and club committee would like to thank the huge number of supporters that travelled to Ballinamore on Saturday and to those who sent us many words of good luck and encouragement. Thanks to all the many clubs that supported us on the day and who also sent messages of support and congratulations. To those that stood out in the cold to cheer us on our trip home to the bonfires in Glenfarne, it was great to see such support and joyous scenes. A special thanks to Jim and Assumpta Clancy for sponsoring our post-match meal.
