Quiz Night – The Club are holding a table quiz in Carty bar on Friday 10th November at 9pm. Come along for a great night of fun with plenty of prizes on the night. Tables of 4 €40.

Dunnes Bar ACL Division 2 Final – Saturday was not our day, we played second fiddle to Ballinaglera who made advantage of the first half wind and left our Gaels with an uphill battle to fight back. Although some superb scoring from Colm Moreton, we lost by a point 0-10 to 0-09. We congratulate Ballinaglera and are looking forward to playing them in Division 1 next year. We wish James Flynn speedy recovery after he suffered a knock towards the end of the game. Mal and the team would like to thank all the supporters who were there both on and off the field and supported the team in both league and championship. Keep the flag flying.

Halloween Night – Kids Halloween fancy dress disco for all underage Players and their friends on Tuesday 31st October in the clubhouse from 6-8pm. Lots of treats on offer. All ages welcome €5/child €10/family.

Congratulations – Congratulations to former player Ray O’Rourke who married Aileen Meenagh from Tyrone on Saturday last. On behalf of the club, we wish them both a lifetime of happiness together.

Under 17’s – Well done to Joe Casey, Benny McLoughlin and John Donegan on the work they put into the Under 17 team to have the team so well primed for the County Final in their 5-16 to 1-08 win over Allen Gaels. Goes without saying the praise must ultimately go to the players for such a terrific display. Congratulations to each and every one of you and thanks to the supporters who turned up on Saturday. Scorers were Shane Finn3-1, Stephen Goldrick2-8, Shane Rynn 0-2, Donal Casey, Donal Moreton, Jack Aldridge and Oisin Curley 0-1 each.

League Final – All roads lead to Ballinamore for the Division 2 League Final against Ballinaglera in Ballinamore at 4:15 on Saturday. We would like our 16th man to be present to cheer on the lads, as Ballinaglera will eager to halt the Ferocious Gaels.

Carrick Hurling – Well done to Declan Deegan, Liam, Colm, Enda Moreton and the Carrick hurling club who captured the county hurling title on Saturday last. Well done to Colm who was presented with the Man of The Match award.

Intermediate

 Sunday was simply not our day, we lost out to a far more deserving Aughnashellin side who were more hungrier to win from the start. We wish Aughnasheelin all the best in Connaught and in the senior championship next year. Well done to all the players and to Mal, Peter and Karl for giving us some terrific displays of football in the last few weeks and bringing every soul in the village and surrounding area together for joy and belief. Thanks to the supporters for coming out in great numbers. Of all four team on Sunday, it was evident that it was our Gaels who got the most behind our team and supported them. Our focus now turns to the under 17 final on Saturday and division 2 league final the following weekend, and we urge all our supporters out again to roar on the “ferocious” Gaels.

Turn the Village Purple and Green

What each and everyone did just showed the community and spirit. To all the sponsors and supporters the club, players and committee cannot thank you all enough. With the under 17 final and league final we want everything left up.

Under 17’s

The under 17 final is this Saturday at 12pm against Allen Gaels in Pairc Naoimh Mhuire Carrick. Please come out and support the lads who will form the senior panel in the next few years.

League Final

The league final against Ballinaglera is set for the weekend of 21st/22nd October.

Intermediate – All roads lead to Pairc Sean on Sunday at 1:30pm  as the first Leitrim Gaels team take to the field for the clubs first Intermediate County Final. The team has proven that you don’t just show up and be given the right to a final by seeing off Fenagh and Drumkeeran. They face a very good Aughnasheelin side that has the experience of playing Division 1 football and will be just as much up for the game as we are. We want everyone out in support of the team on Sunday and look forward to a fantastic day. Win/Lose or Draw the team has had a fantastic year and taken the Club to a new historic level, bring on Aughnasheelin to the “ferocious” Gaels.

Under 17’s – Well done to our Under 17s who had a big win in the championship semi-final over Drumkeeran on Saturday Last. They face Allen Gaels in the Final on Saturday 14th October.

Intermediate – The Intermediate team booked themselves a place in the county final after seeing off a very good Drumkeeran side in the semi-finals in Ballinamore on Sunday afternoon. Trailing by 6 points the Gaels pulled in back with a goal from Liam Moreton and some great points from Aidan Flynn, Eunan Tracey and Shaun Chandler. Every player put their heart on the line in truly epic comeback to emerge victorious 1-13 to 1-10.  The final is against Aughnashellin on Sunday 8th October at 1:30 pm in Pairc Sean. The team would like to thank our supporters, the last 3 games the Gaels support has increased, as has the decibel level of noise. Thanks for getting behind the team and we hope you will return on the 8th of October to get behind the team. Let’s start getting the green and purple flags out for the next fortnight.

Under 17’s – Under 17’are playing in a Championship Semi Final this weekend against Drumkeeran on Saturday at 12 noon in Drumkeeran. We wish Joe and the team all the best to and hope to see Leitrim Gaels in another final.

Intermediate
– The Intermediate replay with Fenagh was another thriller and we emerged victorious to progress to the semi finals on a score line of 2-09 to 0-9. The semi final against Drumkeeran is on Sunday next in Ballinamore at 4pm. It was your support who was the 16th man against Fenagh so we urge all our supporters to come and support the team again.
Under 17
– The under 17 team recorded a good win over Glencar Manorhamilton on Saturday last 4-14 to 3-06. They have one game left in the group stages against Drumkeeran.

– Club Committee and Coaches Meeting this Friday 22nd September at 8pm at the Club House. All coaches are asked to attend and new members wishing to get involved in the club are welcome.
Sympathy
– The club wish to express their deepest sympathy to Paul Guckian and family Kiltoughart on the sad passing of his grandmother. From Leitrim Gaels GAA club we wish to extend our sympathy to the Murray family Carrick on Shannon on the on the sudden death of Bernard. Is féidir a n-anamacha a anam.

Under 15 Final – The under 15 team proved the future is bright for Leitrim Gaels in years to come when the captured the Under 15 13 aside championship by seeing off a very good Mohill team 3-09 to 0-11. The team were Michael Farrell, Oisin Mc Cabe, Aaron Alridge, Rory Kelly, Sean  Nee, Paddy Keane, Daniel O’ Sullivan, Oisin Curley, Rian Mc Cauley, Jim Cullen, Liam Chandler, Nathan Walsh, Shane Rynn, Mathew Doyle, Liam Mc Nabola, Jonatan Casey, Leon O’ Brien, Robbie Casey, Milo Blake, Eentje Gavigan and  Brian Goldrick. The lads were guided under the excellent knowledge of Pearse O’Looney, Bryan Kelly, Gerry Gurley and Barry Kerr.

Intermediate – The Intermediate replay with Fenagh takes place Saturday afternoon at 3pm in Pairc Sean. It is sure to be a thriller,  and again we urge all our supporters to come out and support, The team  thank you for your support last Sunday.

Underage – The Under 17’s beat Annaduff 2-23 to 1-03 on Saturday. They play Manorhamilton, this Saturday away at 12 noon. The Under 13’s play their last Championship game against St Bridgids this evening in Leitrim at 6:30pm.
