Under 15 Champions – Finally, after two great games, with a strong, sporting Allen Gaels side playing their part, the Under 15s finally added the Championship title to the League won earlier in the year. We feel the pain for Drumshanbo as Mohill were very lucky on the previous Sunday to draw the game, but these boys never give up and this was a team effort with every lad, big and small playing their part. The club wish to acknowledge the input of the Cloone Club who have made generous contributions and make coaches available to all the underage teams. Well done to Mickey Quinn, Aidan Donohue, Matt Gaffey and John Baxter for looking after the boys during the year.

Lough Rynn Sponsorship – We thank the Lough Rynn Castle for sponsoring food for the players, mentors and a fair amount of supporters following the two Under 15 finals. Lough Rynn Castle and Manager Ciarán Reidy have been generous sponsors to the Club for many years now and Mohill is loooking forward to their continued support. They will hopefully be rewarded by success on the field of play in 2019.

Under 15 Final – The Mohill Under 15 lads were hit with two goals in the first few minutes of this keenly contested final in Carrick on Sunday last. This sucker-punch had the boys playing catch- up for most of the game and the Allen Gaels side playing great football. But with ten minutes to go our boys threw off the shackles and scored 1-4 without reply to earn themselves a draw. This was a great comeback with the young players from Cloone, Eslin and Mohill giving it their all.  The replay will be this weekend so we will be hoping to see a big crowd out to support. See fixtures for time and venue.

Walking Track – We thank Michael, Keith and Dearbhaille Beirne three of Ireland’s Fittest Family and Eanna Madden International Athlete who officially opened the Walking track around the park on Saturday last. They all gave their time to the young children doing an obstacle course, racing around the park and playing football. It was a wonderful occasion and everyone enjoyed the experience. There was also a sad note at the opening, as the Under 10s bade a sad farewell to young Joel Wuabah and his family as they head to Ennis. The family was well integrated into the town with Caleb playing Under 17 football and basketball, Joel playing Gaelic and Prince involved in soccer with Steve Macklin. We wish the family Good Luck wherever they go.

Congratulations Aughawillan – Firstly, we congratulate the Aughawillan team and Management on becoming champions once again. As always they were gracious winners and we wish them well in the Connacht Club championship. It is always difficult to defend a title and this was just not Mohill’s day. It was sad for the team and Management as no stone was left unturned in preparation for the big day. We thank the players and mentors who travelled long distances at their own expense to train in central locations, hopefully, they will gain from this experience and go from strength to strength. Ní neart go cur le chéile.

Jim Meehan RIP – The Club extends condolences to the family of Jim Meehan who died last week.  Jim was a pleasant and cheerful man and a long-serving officer of the County Board and his club Dromahaire. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh sé.

Senior Final – On Sunday afternoon Mohill will meet Aughawillan in the Senior Championship Final. Both Teams have been consistent over the last four years with both clubs winning twice. The papers have named Mohill as favourites but never underestimate the spirit and undoubted talent of the Aughawillan side so our players will not be complacent. The lads have prepared well for this big day with Sean Kennedy and his backroom team. The supporters have also prepared, decorating the town from top to bottom. Senior Championship – The seniors will contest the championship final with Aughawillan on Sunday October 14. Manorhamilton were obviously not on form on Saturday last in the semi and three games in a row took their toll. Nevertheless, Mohill are coming good at the right time and the pairing in the final should be very competitive. Lots of work still to be done on the field and around the parish to prepare for the greatest day in Leitrim football. We were sorry to see Eslin bow out after a great campaign but we congratulate our near neighbours Annaduff and Fenagh who will contest the Intermediate final

Intermediates – The second string strived in vain to maintain their Intermediate status on Sunday morning but Aughavas were the winners in this relegation battle in Cloone. The Ladies Club thank Gary and Shane Canning, Darragh Gordon and Caillin Canning for looking after the team all year. Good days ahead le cúnamh Dé

Under 15 – TheU15s came up against tough opposition in Allen Gaels, who deservedly ran out winners by a margin of 3-12 to 0-9.
