Intermediate B Championship: Congratulations to St Marys on a great win in the final on Saturday against Glencar Manorhamilton. This was a historic win for the Carrick side who were defeated by Ballinaglera in the Junior A Final last month and have now recorded a Championship title at a higher grade. Since that narrow defeat the side have improved and played with great confidence since, defeating Intermediate teams Bornacoola and St Josephs on their way to the title.

All Star Awards: Best of luck to Ann Marie Cox, Mary McKeon, Sinead Brennan, Maeve Quinn and Sarah McLoughlin who will attend the All Stars Banquet on Saturday evening next in the City West Hotel when the 2007 All Stars are announced. Another honour will also be awarded as Mary Quinn receives the 2007 Hall of Fame Award.

Division 2 Shield: Annaduff qualified for the Division 2 shield final in two weeks time with a 2-11 to 1-10 win over neighbours Bornacoola on Sunday afternoon in an entertaining game. Bornacoola started best with points from Kelly Howard, Orla Bohan and a Louise Farrell before an Ann Marie Cox point opened Annaduffs account. An Orla Gill goal wiped out the Bornacoola lead and furthe points from Maeve Rowley and a second Cox free put Annaduff further in front. Kelly Howard and Ann Marie Cox swopped points before both sides scored two further points each from Louise Farrell (2) and Ann Marie Cox and Eleanor Glancy to leave Annaduff 1-6 to 0-6 ahead at the break. A point and a goal from Ann Marie Cox put Annaduff further ahead at the Beginning of the second half but the Bors responded with and Orla BohanÓgoal. Cox pointed again from a free but Fiona Reilly pointed with a goal chance. With the scores going from end to end Annaduff pointed again from Clare Gill but two further Bornacoola points from Reilly and Howard cut the deficit again. Another Cox free was cancelled by a Reilly point as Bornacoola cut the deficit to a single goal with minutes remaining but the ever accurate Cox finished the game with another point to see Annaduff safely through. Ballinaglera will meet newly crowned Intermediate B champions St Marys in the second semi final next week in a repeat of the Junior A championship final.

Earlier today Leitrim GAAs first ever radio advert went to air as part of the final stage of the Get on the Team campaign. The advert is part of a marketing campaign to ensure full awareness of this very necessary stage of our fund raising campaign. The Stand project has cost €3 million and with a fantastic €2.5 million raised we are down to the last €500,000. We feel that this is very achievable as to date Leitrim supporters have donated in excess of €800,000 either as a direct donation or through the tax incentive Get on the Team campaign. The remaining funding has been obtained in the form of Grants from the Department of Sport, Croke Park and the Connacht Council.

It is worth noting that our fund raising campaign only began as recently as October of last year. The County Board are very appreciative of all of the donations received and as we are very close to our final figure we are making the final push to have the final amount raised by December. Clubs are providing great assistance in this final push as the County Board Finance team are working closely with designated Club coordinators to achieve the target.

We have very large plans for the development of the Centre of Excellence at Annaduff but we will not do so until we have cleared the existing debt on the New Stand.

The ingenunity of the Stands design, its functionality and the quality of the finish is nationally recognised as a blueprint facility. If you are not already part of the Get on the Team scheme and you are a P.AY.E. worker or own your own business then please show your support and contact you local Club or County Board officer and Get yourself on the team.

In order to get on a team your contribution must be of € 1000, but Lei trim GAA have a scheme by which you can achieve this through a Tax relief scheme

The tax scheme allows you to make a cash donation which is further topped up by a donation from your annual tax bill depending on your P.A.Y.E. tax rate (41% or 20%). E.g. if you donate €590 and you pay tax at 41% then Leitrim GAA can claim back €410 from your tax bill. Your tax relief portion will bring your full donation to €1,000 which qualifies you for the white team. There are 6 categories of team, Gold, Bronze, Silver, Green, Yellow, white, for which you can qualify depending on the amount of your donation

However only donations in access of € 250 are eligible for the tax relief but Leitrim GAA would be delighted to accept a donation of any nature towards this project and all donations will be recognized as other donations towards the scheme

Be part of a unique team and be part of a team that will go down in history as The team that built the stand. A plaque will be erected at the entrance to Páirc Sean in honor of each 15 person donation team.

We will be releasing a further list of contributors to the stand on this website and in the local press next week.
