Gortletteragh GAA Club Notes 28/05/2018

Connacht Championship – Hard luck to Jack and Seamus and the Leitrim panel who bowed out of the Connacht Championship at the weekend against Roscommon. All eyes turn to the Qualifiers now.

Weekend Fixtures – The Dunne’s Bar Division 1 resumes this weekend with Aughawillan visiting the park on Bank Holiday Sunday, throw in 12 noon. Please come out and support the lads.

Congratulations – We extend sincere congratulations to Cathal and Laura Quinn, Gortletteragh on the birth of their daughter Willow, a sister for Mia Lillie and Jack. A future Gortletteragh player no doubt.

Celtic Challenge – Well done to Rinn Gaels players  Kieran Reen Shane Mallon and Sean Ó’Roirdan who are hurling away with the Leitrim U17 Celtic Challenge Team and putting in some eye catching displays. Well done lads keep it up.

Nicky Rackard – Cathal and Kevin are representing us on the Leitrim Hurling panel who face Tyrone in Pairc Sean on Saturday at 3 pm. Support for the lads is much appreciated.

Cúl Camps – Cul Camp takes place in Gortletteragh on the 16 – 20 July. Places are booking up fast and can only be booked online. Google Leitrim GAA Cul Camps for more info.

U15s – Our U15s went down to a much stronger Leitrim Gaels team last Monday evening in Leitrim Gaels home pitch. The boys fought hard but Leitrim Gaels proved too strong on the day. Our next game is a shield semi final tomorrow Thursday 31st May. Check Leitrim Gaa fixtures for more details.

Underage Table Quiz – We had our annual table quiz last Friday night in the community center. We had a great turnout on the night of adults and kids tables. We’d like to thank all the local businesses that sponsored spot prizes and gave generous donations and food, we’d also like to thank all the parents who helped out with hot food and setting up for the night, Ned Heslin for the sound, Emer Duffy who presided as quiz master and her team of correctors Michaela & Emma and the raffle ticket sellers. Thanks to County player Jack Heslin for presenting U15 league medals. We had a very good and successful night thanks to all who supported.

School Boys – By the time of going to print the schoolboys will have played their final. Best of luck to all involved.

Comhbrón – The club would like to extend deepest sympathies to the Sorohan families on the sudden passing of Kevin last weekend. All underage club activities were postponed as a mark of respect. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
