Glencar/Manorhamilton GAA Club Notes 07/08/2018

Senior & Junior A Championships – Well done to our Senior and Junior B teams who recorded championship wins at the weekend over neighbours Melvin Gaels and Dromahair.  The seniors pulled away in the last quarter to see off Melvin Gaels 0-15 to 1-8 in Páirc Seán on Saturday while the Juniors were impressive winners over Dromahair 8-10 to 1-9 in Drumkeerin on Sunday.  The Seniors play Round 3 versus Bornacoola this Saturday at 5.30pm in Ballinamore.  Your support as always is appreciated.

Senior & Junior Ladies – Congrats to our Senior Ladies who topped their group with a comfortable 8-16 to 3-6 win over Oughteragh Gaels on Sunday morning last in Leitrim Village.  At halftime the game was very much in the mix as the Manor ladies went in five points ahead playing against the breeze. After halftime and aided by the breeze the Manor girls built on their first half performance to claim a valuable two points. They have now qualified for the Championship semi-final to face Dromahair, who had a comprehensive win on Sunday evening over Aughawillan to qualify for the semi-finals. The semi-finals will be played in two weeks time with Kiltubrid and St Joseph’s taking the other two final four spots.
Hard luck to our Junior ladies side to lost to Annaduff on Sunday morning last. Despite a gallant performance from the side the Annaduff ladies showed superior strength in depth to claim the win.

U12 Girls – Hard luck to our U12 girls side who lost by the narrowest of margins to St Mary’s in the County final on Bank Holiday Monday. Played in front of a good crowd, the Manor ladies started brilliantly to go in at halftime Manor with a 1-04 to 0-3 point lead. Unfortunately, a late scoring spree from St Marys grabbed the win on a final scoreline of Manor 2-06 St Marys 1-10. The girls did themselves proud on the day and throughout the season under the watchful eye of Brendan McLoughlin, Vinnie McMorrow and Grainne Rooney. Thanks to the girls and the management team for all their hard work throughout the campaign.
