INTERMEDIATE LADIES – Bornacoola/St Mary’s were back in action on Friday evening last as they took on Fenagh in their second match in the excellent Aughavas facilities. Having won their first match comfortably, this turned out to be a much more competitive affair with the girls eventually prevailing on a 1-10 to 1-5 final scoreline. Despite Sarah Reynolds hitting the back of the net in the very early stages, the Fenagh girls were not to be deterred and served their intent with some fine scores from play throughout the half. Indeed, the first half was very evenly matched, and a late penalty converted by the Fenagh ladies saw the teams enter the half-time interval on level terms 1-4 each. On the resumption, our girls played with renewed determination and greater pace and with the defence holding the opposition to a solitary point over the half hour, they added six points to their total to establish the match-winning margin after a highly competitive and enjoyable championship match played in an excellent spirit by both teams. Well done to the girls on their efforts so far in this championship season which have guaranteed a semi-final place with two group matches remaining against St. Francis and Mohill later this month. On duty on Friday evening last were: Kathy Butler, Hannah Reynolds, Jasmine Maye, Joanne McGushin, Enya Guckian, Lorraine Guckian (0-1), Emily Reynolds, Alison McKeon, Kasey Bruen (0-1), Sara Crowe, Aisling Leahy (0-4), Rachel McGarry, Sarah Reynolds (1-0), Kelly Howard (0-4), Lisa Guckian, Hannah Farrell, Isabelle Chandler and Ellen Woods.

U12 GIRLS – Well done to our U12 girls’ team and management on retaining their county title on Monday in epic fashion.  Once again, the girls showed their never say die attitude and it paid off in the end, winning by the narrowest of margins.  This group of girls has come such a long way in such a very short space of time.  While each of the girls on the field worked tirelessly credit must also go to their equally dedicated teammates on the sideline who got behind the team from the very start to get them over the line. Hard luck to an excellent Manorhamilton team, we knew it wasn’t going to be easy as the teams couldn’t be separated in the group stages.  The final result was St. Mary’s 1.10, Manorhamilton 2.06.  Wishing Nicole Glancy who broke her wrist in a game last week a speedy recovery.  We hope to see Nicole back on the pitch playing again before too long.

The panel on the day was Emmanuella Olabiyi, Victoria Moore, Emily McGovern (0.01), Chloe Murphy, Kayleigh Earley, Mairead Lowe, Áine Morgan, Keelin Cronin (C), Emily Reynolds, Faith Lynott (0.01), Ellie Butler (1.03), Rebecca O’Neill (0.01), Ruby Lowe (0.01), Sarah Lowe (C) (0.01), Holly Corcoran, Nicole Glancy, Sarah McTiernan, Amber Hickey O’Flynn, Hannah Walsh, Micaela Gallagher (0.02), Hanora Brady, Holly Slevin, Caireann O’Grady, Caoimhe Doran, Chloe Costello, Lauren Deegan, Elodie Maye Gazzonet, Laura Faughnan, Tiffney Hughes, Urwah Imran, Mia Gately, Zara Cronin, Isabel Lowe
