CLUB MEETING – A meeting will take place in the Clubrooms on Thursday 18th January @ 9pm in relation to our Fundraising draw. Anybody with tickets sold may return on the night.

MEMBERSHIP 2018 – Club membership fees for 2018 are Adults: €50, Students: €25, Underage: €20, Family membership: €100. Gym membership outside the parish is €100.

TRAINING – Training is on Friday night 19th January @ 8.30pm.

DINNER DANCE – St Joseph’s Ladies dinner dance will take place on Saturday 20th January in the Breffni Arms in Arva.  Tickets on sale for €30 and are available from officials and players.  Please support the ladies.

ST STEPHEN’S DAY CHARITY MATCH – Our annual Sean Kiernan Memorial Cup charity match took place on St Stephen’s day at 2pm, whereby the under 30’s defeated the over 30’s.  Bridie Mollahan presented the Cup to Captain Paul Bohan and the Man of the Match trophy to Aidan Maguire.  A special thanks to Sambo Reilly for refereeing the match and managers Noel & Padraic for the u30’s and Ciaran & Gerry for the over 30’s . Thanks also to Gerry for an entertaining running commentary on the sideline during the match our own Davy Fitz!  Finally, thanks to all who helped out on the day.  The proceeds from the gate will be donated to the Leitrim Association for People with Disabilities.

CONGRATULATIONS – Congratulations to Conor Bohan and Leona Traynor, Scotstown who got engaged recently.  We wish them lots of happiness.

ST STEPHEN’S DAY CHARITY MATCH – Our annual St Stephen’s day Sean Kiernan Memorial cup charity match will take please at 2pm in Aughavas GAA pitch with the Under 30’s playing the over 30’s.  Please note all players have to be at the pitch at 1.15pm to meet the new Manager before the game.  All proceeds raised will be donated to the Leitrim Association for People with Disabilities (LAPWD).  Please support.

SYMPATHY – We extend our deepest sympathy to the Heslin Family Druminbawn on the death of their mother Mary Heslin Senior.   Mary was vice president of Aughavas GAA Club and a great supporter of both Aughavas and St Joseph’s Ladies.  She will be sadly missed by all. Ar dheis De go raibh a hAnam.

U21’s – Hard luck to St Joseph’s U21’s who were defeated by Glencar Manorhamilton after extra time in Carrigallen on Sunday last on a scoreline of 2-17 to 2-20.

GAELTACHT SCHOLARSHIPS –  Leitrim GAA is offering grants for attendance at Gaeltacht courses to Leitrim boys and girls as part of their promotion of an Ghaeilge.  Application forms can be accessed on the Leitrim GAA Website.  The closing date for applications is Friday 10th November 2017.

ST JOSEPH’S U21’S The U21’s Championship commences this bank holiday weekend with St Joseph’s getting a bye.

MEN’S GROUP We are proposing to start a Men’s Group in Aughavas. Men’s Groups are proving very popular throughout all of Ireland. If you are looking for new hobbies, interests, friendships and learning opportunities then come along to a meeting to discuss plans and share your ideas for the Men’s Group. The first meeting will be a planning meeting to discuss what dates and times suit people, what to do etc. Absolutely no jobs to be filled just come along and enjoy the meeting. The first meeting will be held on Saturday 28th Oct at 9pm in Aughavas Community Centre. All men are welcome. SOCIAL DANCING CLASSES Social dancing lessons will take place in Aughavas Community Centre starting on Wednesday night 25th October at 8pm. These lessons will run for 6 weeks, music by Ned Heslin.
