Leitrim Minor GAA – Hard luck to the Leitrim Minor team after their defeat to Mayo on Friday evening, the lads put in a sterling effort but were unable to overcome a strong Mayo team. Special thanks to all the stewards that assisted us before, during and after.

Senior League – The weather was shining on Saturday evening in the Pairc as we took on the neighbours Aughawillan in our Dunnes Senior league game. There was a great crowd in attendance and they were treated to a thrilling match with both teams giving it all. The visitors shaded first half but our lads game back much stronger in the second half to cut the deficit and finally take the lead in the closing minutes of this pulsating game with most of the crowd in the stand up on their feet in the closing minutes cheering both teams on, the win that the Ballinamore crowd were cheering for was not to be and Aughawillan kicked the final point to level the score in added time at the end with the final score Ballinamore 1:14 to Aughawillan 0:17. Next up for the lads is an away match against our other neighbours Aughnasheelin.

School Finals – Well done to both the girls and boys team on reaching their respective schools’ finals on Saturday, unfortunately, both teams were beaten in the final but they certainly put up a great effort in two entertaining games

Fixtures – MacDiarmada Gaels U15 versus Mohill Thursday evening at 19:00 in Mohill.  Dunne’s Bar Division One the lads take on Aughnasheelin on Sunday at 18:00 in Aughnasheelin.

Under 13 – We are commencing training this Thursday at 7.30pm in Ballinamore. All players to attend. We are also entering an Under 12 team in the cross counties league taking place in June. Under 15 MacDiarmada Gaels – Well done to our u15 lads who followed up their win against Glencar Manor with another impressive league win this time they defeated St Mary’s away in a tight match winning the game by 2 points with a final score of 4:08 to 2:12. Round 3 takes place on Thursday evening when they take on St Josephs at 19:00

Under Age Boys Matches – Well done to the MacDiarmada Gaels U17 team who were in action on Monday night in Kiltubrid against Allen Gaels in this their second match of the league campaign. The lads were under pressure after the first 5 minutes with Allen Gaels claiming three quick goals, 2 from the penalty spot in the space of three minutes and then one from play. The lads did not let their heads drop and put in a sterling performance with Barry McWeeney leading the line well, the hard work paid off and at half time the lead had changed and MacDiarmada Gaels went in leading 4:08 to 3:04, the second half started the same as the end of the first with our lads controlling from the start and adding a goal and 12 points to Allen Gaels 3 points to leave the final score 5:20 to 3:07

Redevelopment of Ballinamore Hall – The redevelopment of Ballinamore Hall is starting soon and everyone is invited to the hall on Wednesday the 27th of February at 8.30pm

On the night there will be refreshments, speakers and a presentation of the plans for the hall, incorporating the new Island Theatre.

Comhghairdeas Leitrim GAA – What a weekend for Leitrim GAA fans and teams with the Senior Mens and Ladies both recording victories along with our u14 girls who also put in a fantastic display beating Derry by 1 point, the club was well represented at the weekend with Dean McGovern, Shane Moran, Oisin McCaffrey, Darren Maxwell all part of the Senior team, we were also well represented in the ladies team that also won against Derry with Emma McGovern, Eilish O’Dowd, Laura O’Dowd, Laoise Moran King and Abbie Sweeney in action for the county, at u14 we were well represented with Adrian Murphy coaching the u14 and Laura Maguire, Lizzie O’Connell, Ella van der Laan, Teagan McGloin, Aoibhinn Keegan and Kelly Beirne all pulling on the Leitirm jerseys. Scor Na Og – All Ireland Final is taking place on Saturday 16th February in Castlebar, Co. Mayo. Under Age Boys Matches – The Sean MacDiarmada Gaels under 13 and under 17 teams will be in league action this weekend, with first up the u13 teams playing in Ballinamore at 11am on Saturday against Allen Gaels and Annaduff followed by the u17’s who will play their first match on Sunday at 12:00 in Mohill.
