Smith Monumentals Intermediate Championship Final – It’s still all to play for after Sundays draw. The replay is fixed for 2pm next Sunday in Pairc Sean MacDiarmada. The occasion won’t be as busy as County Final day so it’s even more important that our supporters get there and cheer even louder this time around.

Congratulations – to Aughawillan on winning Sundays senior County Final. Commiserations to Mohill who played their part in an exciting game. Well done to Fenagh St Caillins clubman Patrick Guckian on a fine display of refereeing during the game.
Juvenile football – The club was represented by Seamus Flynn and Shane Hargaden at the half time mini games and in the flag parade in Pairc Sean on Sunday. Well done lads. On Saturday last our u9’s took part in the County Blitz in the Centre of Excellence and our u12’s played in the Clonguish GAA Shane Brennan tournament also on Saturday losing narrowly to the hosts in the final after drawing with Knockmore of Mayo and defeating Mountbellew Moylough from Galway.
Westlink Coaches u15 Championship – Fenagh St Caillins played Kiltubrid on Tuesday night and despite a spirited performance lost by 2.16 to 2.09 under the lights in Kiltubrid.
County Final Fundraiser Draw – This draw, which was scheduled to take place on Monday evening, has been postponed for a week due to the drawn encounter with Annaduff. There was a huge response from people in the local and surrounding areas as well as further afield and as far away as the US and Australia for which we are most grateful. There are still some boxes available if anyone hadn’t an opportunity to get one. Thank you sincerely to those who gave sponsorship towards the team in the lead up to Sunday’s game.
Church Gate Collection – The dates allocated for our annual church gate collection are Sat evening and Sunday morning next at St Mary’s Church Foxfield and Sunday morning at Gorvagh Church.

Intermediate Championship Final – All roads lead to Pairc Sean MacDiarmada, Carrick on Sunday next for the Leitrim Intermediate Championship Final. Annaduff are the opposition and throw in is at 1pm. Make sure to get there early to cheer the team out onto the field and dont forget to bring your flags and banners to turn the place red and black.

County Final preparations – as preparations continue its fantastic to see people going the extra step, and some to extremes, to ensure the houses and roads around the parish are sporting our red and black colours. An array of Fenagh merchandise, flags, bunting, car flags etc are still available for purchase in Corrib Oil at Edentenny.

County Final Fundraiser Draw – a fundraising draw will take place over the County Final weekend with money raised going towards the teams preparations. Prizes of €400 have been kindly sponsored by Brian Wrynn Construction and Gilheaney & Co Chartered Accountants. Entries to the draw are €20 and can be purchased online via our Klubfunder or Facebook pages or by contacting any of the Club Executive. The Draw posters are located in Quinns Bar and The Abbey Bar and you can enter there also. There will also be an opportunity to get in the draw after Mass on Saturday evening and before Mass on Sunday morning in the Parochial House. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Senior Championship Final – there will be Fenagh involvement in Sunday’s senior decider also with Patrick Guckian appointed as match referee. Best of luck to Patrick and his team of officials and also to the Mohill and Aughawillan teams.

Connacht u12 skills final – two Fenagh St Caillins teams qualified for last Friday’s final which took place in the Connacht Centre of Excellence. The Fenagh black team were Adam Reynolds, Colm McLoughlin, Calem Quinn and Killian Mulvey and the Fenagh red team were Dara Greenan, James Gilheaney, Ruairi O’Rourke and Matthew Hargaden. Both teams performed excellently in the footpassing, scoring and soloing events with the red team winning the soloing competition.

Gaeltacht Grants 2019 – Leitrim Co Board GAA in conjunction with Leitrim Co Council is offering grants for attendance at Gaeltacht courses to Leitrim boys and girls as part of their promotion of an Ghaeilge. These grants are open to boys and girls living in County Leitrim. Application forms can be printed from the Leitrim GAA website www.leitrimgaa.ie by searching Gaeltacht Scholarships 2019 or can be had had from the Secretary of any GAA club. The closing date for applications is Friday 26 October 2018.

Fenagh St Caillin’s U12 Skills Teams

Intermediate Championship – Fenagh St Caillins have reached this year’s Leitrim Intermediate Championship final. A powerful second-half display against a gallant Leitrim Gaels team resulted in a two-point victory and sets up a mouth-watering battle with Annaduff at 1pm on Sunday week in Pairc Sean MacDiarmada as the curtain raiser to the Aughawillan v Mohill Leitrim Senior County Final.

County Final preparations – preparations are underway both on and off the field for Sunday weeks final. While we leave the team and management to prepare for the game, we ask our supporters to make a big effort in the lead up to the game to fly the flags, banners and what ever else you can get to have the parish decked out in red and black for the next couple of weeks. An array of Fenagh merchandise, flags, bunting, car flags etc are on display and available for purchase in Corrib Oil at Edentenny.

Pyramid Bookmakers Junior B Championship – on Saturday next we play Leitrim Gaels in the semi-final. It throws in at 4.30pm in Ballinamore.
Westlink Coaches u15 Championship – campaign continues on Friday evening when we play Drumkeeran, away at 6.30pm. On Friday last they lost out to Sean O’Heslins 4.09 to 3.06.
U12’s in Croke Park – on Sunday next Fenagh St Caillins u12 team take to the hallowed turf of Croke Park as part of Connacht GAA Go Games Days. They play 3 games against teams from Galway and Mayo in what is a fantastic opportunity for them. Smith Monumental Intermediate Championship – a win over Drumkeeran, 1.06 to 0.07, in our final group game means that we now play neighbours Kiltubrid in the quarter finals. This game is fixed for Ballinamore on Saturday evening next at 5.15pm.

Westlink Coaches u15 Championship – our u15 team travelled to Bundoran on Monday evening to take on Melvin Gaels losing out by 5.11 to 7.01. Next up is Sean O’Heslins in Pairc Sean O’Laodain on Friday evening at 6.30pm.
Lotto – the results of our most recent lotto draw – the jackpot was €2800.There was no jackpot winner. €20 winners on the night were a clean sweep for Corrabarrick – Agnes Kilkenny, Bernie McLoughlin and Peter Kilkenny. Fenagh St Caillin’s U13 Team 2018

The Late John Tom Bland – Fenagh St Caillins Gaa Club President John Tom Bland was laid to rest on Friday last. He was a former player with distinction who lined out mainly in goals but also played throughout the field. Following his playing days he became a fervent supporter and could always to be relied on to provide words of encouragement etc. from the sidelines. He was honoured by the Club last October as a member of the Golden Jubilee Team Junior Championship winning team of 1967. He has served as a honorary President of the Club for the past number of years. We express our sincerest sympathies to his wife Frances, sons James and Dermot and to his extended family, neighbours and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a ainm.

Pyramid Bookmakers Leitrim Junior B Championship – on Sunday last we defeated Ballinaglera by 3.15 to 1.11 to qualify for the semi final.
Barna Recycling u13 Championship – we suffered defeat to Sean O’Heslins losing 5.10 to 1.11 on Friday evening last. On Monday we defeated Melvin Gaels by 3.11 to 1.02 and now play Allen Gaels in the shield final.

Fenagh St Caillins Annual Cycle – the clubs annual cycle took place on Saturday last. Their route took them via Aghacashel to Drumshanbo, on to Balinaglera where they had refreshments in Skerrie Rynns, next into Dowra, across to Drumkeeran down to Leitrim Village and back home via Keshcarrigan, a trip of 100km. From before the group of cyclists left until after their return the crew back in Fenagh Village kept the wheels turning on the ‘stationary’ bike and the support team on the road all worked hard to make the fundraising effort a great sucess. A sincere thank you to everyone who took part in the event. A special thank you to our main sponsor Majella and Quinn’s Bar, to our other major sponsor’s Hubie Reynolds Tarmac and Gilheaney & Co. Chartered Accountants. Also thank you to all our other sponsors both locally and further afield who gave so generously. This years event will commence and finish in Fenagh Village with two routes, 100km and 50km, taking in the scenic route around Lough Allen and along the Shannon Blueway. Club members and players are seeking sponsors for the cycle and also for a stationary cycle which takes place in Fenagh Village in conjunction with the event. Smith Monumentals Leitrim Intermediate Championship – our seniors made it 3 wins from 3 when they overcame Aughavas on Saturday evening last in Cloone. Final score was Fenagh St Caillins 3.14, Aughavas 0.11. They have a weekend off this weekend and the Championship resumes on Saturday week, August 25th.

Barna Recycling u13 Championship – our u13 team lost out to Drumkeeran by 2 points on Thursday last. This Thursday 16th August they take on Gortletteragh in Pairc Sean O’Laodain at 7.30pm.
John McCartin Newtowngore Engineering u17 Championship – due to injuries and holidays we were unable to field a team against St Mary’s on Monday last. Next Monday 20th August the lads take on Allen Gaels in Drumshanbo at 7.30pm.

Pyramid Bookmakers Junior B Championship – our second team began their campaign on Sunday evening last and came out on top after a tough encounter with Aughawillan on a scoreline of 3.05 to 0.13. Well done to them and a special mention to Killian McLoughlin who returned to Junior football after a gap of 35 years!

John McCartin Newtowngore Engineering u17 Championship – on Monday last the team were defeated by St Joseph’s by 4.15 to 0.14. On Monday next 13 August they play St Mary’s in Pairc Sean O’Laodain at 7.30pm.

Barna Recycling u13 Championship – Fenagh were defeated by St Brigid’s on Friday evening last on a scoreline of Fenagh St Caillins 1.08, St Brigids 4.15. This Thursday 9th August they travel to play Drumkeeran with throw in at 7.30pm.
