Division 1 – Well done to the lads on a 2-13 to 0-15 win over Aughawillan at the weekend. No Division 1 game this weekend.

Leitrim U20 – The Leitrim U20 play Mayo in Castlebar on Saturday with a place in the Connacht Final at stake. Best of luck to all involved.

School Boy Success – Congratulations and well done to our schoolboys who won their cup final last Tuesday evening in Páirc Seán beating Aughnasheelin. From start to finish we controlled the game. Aughnasheelin couldn’t get a grip of our running and movement of our players. We had great performances from David Liu Doyle in goals, Luke McManus and George Glaze in defense, Jack Reynolds (C) and Mathew Davis in midfield and Riaghan Ward, Senan Curran, Noah McNulty, Tomás Hynes and John McGoldrick up front. Well done boys. The parents, boys and school would like to thank Jack Reynolds’ grandmother for sponsoring food after the game, thank you Anne.

U12 Cross Border League – Our U12s had their first Longford/ Leitrim game last Thursday evening versus Bornacoola in Dromod.  The teams were evenly matched, it was end to end from start to finish. This game had everything from great goals, point taking, running, defending, tackling and goalkeeping. After a very exciting game Gortletteragh came out on top. It’s great to see Gortletteragh fielding an all boys team at 13 aside. We play Leitrim Gaels this Thursday evening at home at 7:30. Thanks to Bornacoola for refreshments after the game on such a hot evening.

U11 – Our U11s travelled to Fenagh for their blitz last Tuesday. . We had a break over the bank holiday weekend. We’ll be back in action next week.
Connacht Championship – Hard luck to Jack and Seamus and the Leitrim panel who bowed out of the Connacht Championship at the weekend against Roscommon. All eyes turn to the Qualifiers now.

Weekend Fixtures – The Dunne’s Bar Division 1 resumes this weekend with Aughawillan visiting the park on Bank Holiday Sunday, throw in 12 noon. Please come out and support the lads.

Congratulations – We extend sincere congratulations to Cathal and Laura Quinn, Gortletteragh on the birth of their daughter Willow, a sister for Mia Lillie and Jack. A future Gortletteragh player no doubt.

Celtic Challenge – Well done to Rinn Gaels players  Kieran Reen Shane Mallon and Sean Ó’Roirdan who are hurling away with the Leitrim U17 Celtic Challenge Team and putting in some eye catching displays. Well done lads keep it up.

Nicky Rackard – Cathal and Kevin are representing us on the Leitrim Hurling panel who face Tyrone in Pairc Sean on Saturday at 3 pm. Support for the lads is much appreciated.

Cúl Camps – Cul Camp takes place in Gortletteragh on the 16 – 20 July. Places are booking up fast and can only be booked online. Google Leitrim GAA Cul Camps for more info.

U15s – Our U15s went down to a much stronger Leitrim Gaels team last Monday evening in Leitrim Gaels home pitch. The boys fought hard but Leitrim Gaels proved too strong on the day. Our next game is a shield semi final tomorrow Thursday 31st May. Check Leitrim Gaa fixtures for more details.

Underage Table Quiz – We had our annual table quiz last Friday night in the community center. We had a great turnout on the night of adults and kids tables. We’d like to thank all the local businesses that sponsored spot prizes and gave generous donations and food, we’d also like to thank all the parents who helped out with hot food and setting up for the night, Ned Heslin for the sound, Emer Duffy who presided as quiz master and her team of correctors Michaela & Emma and the raffle ticket sellers. Thanks to County player Jack Heslin for presenting U15 league medals. We had a very good and successful night thanks to all who supported.

School Boys – By the time of going to print the schoolboys will have played their final. Best of luck to all involved.

Comhbrón – The club would like to extend deepest sympathies to the Sorohan families on the sudden passing of Kevin last weekend. All underage club activities were postponed as a mark of respect. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
Annual Underage Table Quiz – We are holding our Annual table quiz on Friday the 18th May. All proceeds go towards running of our underage teams for the year. The event gets underway with first-round starring at 9pm.
Tables of 4 are €40 and Junior tables of 4 are €20. Prizes for both categories and raffle on the night also. Always a good nights craic not to be missed so grab a few friends and come along.
Weekend Results – Not an ideal weekend on the pitch this weekend as both the Seniors and Juniors suffered losses to Glencar Manor and Fenagh respectively, both teams being down players due to injury and absence.
Weekend Fixtures – The Seniors travel to Leitrim Village to take on Leitrim Gaels this Sunday @ 12 noon. Best of luck lads.
Westlink Coaches Under 15 – Our U15’s had a good win over St Joseph’s at home last Monday score 5- 13 to 2-08. We played Allen Gaels on Thursday. Allen Gaels were a much stronger team and won well on a scoreline of 5-16 to 0-6. Next up is Leitrim Gaels and then Manorhamilton both games away. Check fixtures for dates and times.
Under 9 – Our U9s are due to play Garadice Gaels Tuesday evening at home at 6:30. That will be our fifth outing in as many weeks. Well done to all the coaches the last few weeks for their work with this group.
Under 11 –This group start their games next Monday. No fixtures confirmed yet.

Gaelic Park – Well done to Leitrim on their win in NY at the weekend. All focus now leads to Roscommon in Pairc Seán on May 26th.

U15 – Our second game had to be cancelled last Tuesday evening in Leitrim Gaels due to waterlogged pitch. On Thursday evening we travelled to Ballinamore. We started the game very lively, with some lovely link-up play and good score taking, the halftime score was 1-08 to 1-2 to Gortletteragh. The second half was a tougher encounter. Ballinamore came more into the game, it was end to end at one stage with Ballinamore getting a goal to put them right back in it but we swiftly replied with a goal of our own. Final score Gortletteragh 2 -13 Ballinamore 2-10. U9 – Our U9 had their fourth Saturday morning blitz at the weekend at home to Kiltubrid. We 13 players out and all enjoyed it.

Swan Bar Division 3 – The lads were outfoxed by Glencar Manor on the club’s first visit to Glencar Manor’s new pitch in Boggaun. They are back at home comforts as Aughavas make the trip to Cornageeha on Saturday evening, throw in 7.00.

U9 – Our U9s were away to Kiltubrid last Saturday week in their first outing and were away to Fenagh last- Saturday morning. They will be playing Cloone this Saturday morning at home at 10 o’clock.

U11 & U7 –Training continues every Monday evening at 7 o’clock. U7s training continues inside every Tuesday evening at 6:30.

Senior Football – The Senior team kept their unbeaten run going on Sunday with a draw against Aughnasheelin in very blustery conditions away from home. Final score Aughnasheelin 2-8 Gortletteragh 0-14

Division 3 Football – No Division 3 to report on last weekend but this Saturday the lads travel to Glencar Manor on Saturday evening, throw in 7.00

Championship 2018 – The Championship Draws were held in Carrick on Shannon on Monday night, and some interesting clashes were thrown up for the Senior and Junior teams. We were drawn with Mohill, Ballinamore SOH, Aughawillan, Dromahair and Drumreilly in the Senior Championship. The Juniors will face Carrigallen, Glenfarne/Kilty and Drumkeerin in the Junior A Championship

U13 Shield Final – Our U13s played in the shield final Saturday morning against Allen Gaels in Drumshanbo. After a very tough first  half Allen Gaels were in front at half time 08  to 1-02 assisted by a very strong breeze. We made a few changes and on the restart we got a goal but Allen Gaels replied with a goal of their own. We fought hard throughout the second half but we couldn’t get in front. The last 10 minutes was end to end football but Allen Gaels came out on top on a score line 3 11 – 3 07.

Senior Football –The Senior team built on last week’s draw against Fenagh with a 1-13 to 1-6 win over Drumkeeran in the park. This weekend they are out on Sunday at 12 noon, travelling to play Aughnasheelin.

Division 3 Football –The Division 3 game was postponed due to both club’s pitches being unplayable at the weekend.

U13
 – We had two games last week, the first one was against Kiltubrid after a good entertaining game with some very good score taking we came out with a win on a score line 1-11 to 2-03. Thanks to Bornacoola for the use of their pitch for this game.  Our second game was against St Brigid’s, after a close encounter in the first half , St. Brigid’s ran out winners on a score line 1-11 to 6-08. U17 – Rinn Gaels finished off our league campaign against Drumkeerin on Saturday in Drumkerrin on a scoreline of Rinn Gaels 2-04  Drumkeerin 5-08. Leitrim GAA Strategic Plan – Coiste Chontae Liatroma CLG is in the process of producing a Strategic Development Plan for the next three years.

As part of the consultation process, adult members of the GAA in Leitrim are being asked for their views under a number of headings. Dunnes Bar Division 1 – Our first league game of 2018 was the proverbial game of two halves. Despite a great first half from the lads, Fenagh finished stronger to ensure a share of the spoils. Final score 3-9 to 1-15.

Swan Bar Division 3 – The second team were minus a few players as they travelled to Eslin on Easter Sunday. The final score was 2-16 to 2-6. Well done to Dara McPartland, Cian Mulvey and Jack Davis who made their competitive adult debuts for the club. Long careers in Green and Gold await no doubt

Newtowngore Engineering U17 – The lads qualified for the U17 League Semi Final with a convincing display over Dromahaire on Saturday. Well done to the team and management on their progress so far.

Fixtures – The Seniors are at home again this weekend, Drumkeerin pay a visit to the park at 6.30 on Saturday. The Division 3 team are away to St. Mary’s on Sunday at 12 noon.

County Football – Well done to Jack and Seamus and the Seniors on picking up a good win over Wicklow as they build momentum for the big clash vs NY in six weeks time

County Hurling – Hard luck to the Leitrim Hurlers and our representatives Cathal Kevin and of course Eslins Conor, a former Gortletteragh hurler, as they pushed Lancashire all the way in Ballyconnel on Sunday.

Swan Bar Division 3 – The Division 3 team travel to take on Eslin on Sunday at 12 noon looking for their first points of the league. All support much appreciated

Barna Recycling U13 – Our U13s played Drumkeeran on Sunday morning at home. We were well on top in the first half, but Drumkeeran came back strong. After a great game of football, Drumkeeran won by the narrowest of margins. We played some great football at times and probably a draw would have been the fairest result, but that’s football. Leitrim Hurling – Congratulations to the entire Leitrim Hurling panel and management on their win over Cavan, setting up a National League final on the 24th March. Great to see this team going from strength to strength and special mention to our own Kevin McGrath and Cathal McCrann and also Conor Beirne from Eslin, a former Gortletteragh player.

Adult Football Commences –The Division 3 team kick off our competitive adult fixtures for 2018 with a home game vs Allen Gaels Sunday at 12. Hope to see a few out to support.

The Chairman tackles the Cube – This Friday night our neighbours Eslin are holding the Cube in Lough Rynn Castle, and none other than our club chairman and local mechanic Barry Costello will pit his wits against the Cube! Best of luck to Barry and to the Eslin club on what promises to be a great night’s entertainment.
