In what was a very competitive match throughout, it was the greater efficiency of the home side’s attack, allied to staunch defending that proved the difference between the teams at the end. The girls were out of the blocks early and once they found the range for the first time they converted a greater ratio of scoring chances to carry a 3-9 to 1-3 lead into the interval, goalkeeper Caroline Guckian saving a penalty just before the break. To their credit, the Keeldra girls never threw in the towel and provided very stern opposition right to the very end but the girls tagged on a number of second-half scores to keep them at arm’s length.
