Swan Bar Division 3 League – We played Eslin on Saturday evening in Division 3 League in a competitive game. Unfortunately, we lost out on a scoreline of 1-12 to 12 points. Family Walk – We are holding a family walk on the “Cullentra Greenway” on 7th May. Assemble at St. Michael’s National School at 12noon. All monies raised will go the club.

Glenfarne/Kilty GAA Tops & Bobble Hats – Anyone wishing to purchase our half zip tops can do so in Clancy’s of Glenfarne before 18th May. They are priced as follows: Up to 10-11 €45, 13-14 €50 and adults €55. We also have a number of club bobble hats for sale in Clancys. We have them in Black and White and Grey and Pink. Sean MacDiarmada Boxing – We extend a huge thank you to the Sean MacDiarmada boxing club for holding an exhibition in the Rainbow on Sunday afternoon. A huge thank you to The Holy Family Boxing Club Drogheda and Ballinacarrow Boxing Club for travelling to Glenfarne also. A special mention to Pat Slevin Construction who sponsored the event and also to those who attended the event and purchased raffle tickets.

Senior Ladies – Hard luck to our Ladies team who suffered a defeat to St. Francis over the weekend, there was great support and the girls really gave us all a great game.

Guests will also speak of their own home Clubs, how they are structured and have developed, and how playing sport has influenced their respective lives and careers. The event starts at 7.45pm sharp, and is open to all Parishioners. It is free of charge, and light refreshments will be available at the halfway break.  We encourage people attending to come early, as seating will be limited.

Underage Academy – Following on from the U13s winning their league Annaduff GAA are looking for the next generation of stars, Our Underage academy is now up and running on Saturday mornings at 10am. Any Parents with boys from 5 to 11 years call out any Saturday Morning. The underage girls are due to start the May bank holiday weekend we are looking for more parents to help out with the girls.  If you can spare an hour on a Saturday morning or for any further info contact  Ann-Marie Cox. Swan Bar ACL Division 3 – Our junior team travelled to Drumshambo on Saturday evening last to face Allen Gaels. The Annaduff lads got out of the traps first with 2 frees from Sean D and 2 points from play from Adam before the Gaels converted a point from a free in the 10th min followed with 1 from play. 14 min into the first half a well converted free from Sean D. The Gaels and Sean D exchanged points, Before the break, Gavin shot 2 points and 1 from Sean Q left our Juniors with a lead at halftime Annaduff 0-09 to Allen Gaels 0-04.
The second half was played with some high intensity throughout with the Gales determined to close the score gap in the 43rd min the Gales were within a point of catching the Annaduff side but a point from a free from Sean D followed by 1 from play by Gavin and 2 from Sean Q left 5 between the sides but in the 58th min the Gaels converted a goal from a penalty followed with 2 points from play left a draw at full-time Annaduff 0-13 to Allen Gaels 1-10.

Barna Recycling Under 13 Reserve League – This team played out a wonderful game of football on Thursday last in the reserve final but were just pipped in the end by a strong St Mary’s side. Every boy gave it his all on the night and great credit goes to them and their mentors A big thanks to Bórd na Óg for the lovely refreshments after the game. Newtowngore Engineering Under 17 League – The Under 17s completed their League campaign when they played Fenagh in the Shield semi-final on Tues last. Fenagh were worthy winners but Mohill played very well and most of the team are underage for next year. The scoreline ended Mohill 0-17 Fenagh 4-13 Scorers were C Quinn 0-5, C Mulligan 0-3, F Cassells 0-2, N Keegan 0-2, C White 0-1, K Curran 0-1, L Ellis 0-1, C Macklin 0-1

Barna Recycling Under 13, 15/aside Final – The Under 13s once more played St Marys in this final and although playing a wonderful game, were beaten by 3 points. There will a full report on this match in this week’s Leitrim Observer.

Christy Clyne RIP – We extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Christy Clyne who died last week. Christy played football in his youth and togged out alongside Packie McGarty, Eddie Rowley, Eddie Foley and many other notables as a schoolboy in 1956. He was a much-loved postman for many years around Mohill. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sé.

Swan Bar Div 4 – The third string played Kiltubrid at the weekend but were missing a few key players, this left them short of scoring power. Those present played their hearts out but Kiltubrid were the stronger team and won well in the end.

Swan Bar Division 4 – The division 4 team played Cloone on Saturday last, but were beaten by a better team. They play Kiltubrid on Saturday next in Leitrim at 7pm.

Westlink Coaches Under 15 League – The under 15 team start their league campaign this week when they play Allen Gaels away on Friday evening at 7pm in Drumshanbo. They then host Gortletteragh in Leitrim on Tuesday at 7:30pm. Best of luck to the team and Management.

Pitch Closure– The playing surface of the pitch is closed until further notice for games and training. We asking all players and management to respect this and train on the training area around the pitch.

5km Run – Leitrim Village 5km Canal run and walk Sunday 29th April at 12 noon from Leitrim Gaels Community Field. All funds go towards Community Cardiac Rehab Programme Leitrim/Roscommon and St Joseph’s Centre Leitrim village. Entry fee €10/ €20 per Family.

Big Night Out – Leitrim Gaels will be holding a fundraiser in Rory Dolan’s, McLean Ave, Yonkers, NY on Friday the 4th of May 2018 at 9pm. Presentations on the night from the club will be made to Willie Reynolds and Mary O Keefe in recognition of the work they did in NY 20 years ago fundraising for the club. There will be door prizes, raffle prizes, 50/50 draw and music on the night. All Gaels home and abroad are welcome on the night for what promises to be a great night.

Barna Recycling U13 Shield Final – St Joseph’s U13’s finished up their league campaign by facing Dromahair in the Division 1 shield final in sun-kissed Aughavas on Friday evening. Dromahair made a blistering start to the game and had 2 goals and a point on the scoreboard before St Joseph’s registered their first score with a point midway through the half. At halftime, Dromahair had a three-point lead and would need a big second-half performance if they were to come away with the victory. The second half was tit for tat the whole way through and after a very close and hard fought encounter St Joseph’s emerged winners on a final scoreline of 2-11 to 3-04. Well done to St Joseph’s for producing a good team performance when the pressure came on from a very spirited and talented Dromahair team. Played in very warm conditions, our lads put in a great performance and ran out deserving winners on a scoreline of St. Joseph’s 4-13 Fenagh 3-07. Swan Bar Division 4 – The Juniors returned to action on Saturday evening last in Ballinamore when they took on the table toppers Sean O Heslin’s. In a game that never really got firing, the Ballinamore men ran out deserving 1-10 to 0-7 victors; however the Bors did a lot of things right and had they taken any of four excellent goal chances, the outcome might well have been different. The team on duty was Conor Hackett. Patrick Kozak, David Mulligan, Kevin Mulligan, Liam Mulligan, Mervyn Howard, Luke Jones, Liam Jones, Colm Farrell (0-1), Jonathan Duffy (0-2), Robert O Beirne, Danny Farrell, Ronan Mulligan, Cian Mallon and Kevin Shanley (0-4). Subs used were: Trevor Howard, Gearoid Mulligan and Marc Mc Keon. We return to action this weekend when Ballinaglera will be the visitors to Dromod.

Underage News – Training will continue for all age groups on Saturday mornings at 10.30 am sharp. We are asking this year if all players could be there on time as it makes it easier for coaches for setting up drills.  Please also ensure your child wears a gum shield to all training sessions.If your child has not registered please contact Suzanne Maguire on 087 3898205 as we will need everyone registered for insurance purposes.

Parish Clean Up – Next Saturday week May 5th there will be the annual clean-up of the roadsides in the Bornacoola/Dromod/Cloonturk area as part of the national Spring clean. Meeting time will be 10am at the GAA grounds and it only takes an hour or so if enough people turn up. If you have hi-vis clothing/gloves/picker bring them; if not they will be provided.

Clothes Collection – Our Annual Clothes collection will this year take place on Saturday morning, July 14th – so start gathering together your old clothes, sheets etc for collection on the day

Sympathy – Our deepest sympathies are extended to the Cox family (Cloooncolry) on the recent passing of Lorna’s husband Andrew Mc Dermott in Dublin; also to the Mc Garry family (Ballygeeher) on the passing of Angela’s brother PJ Murray in Athenry and who was laid to rest at the weekend. Barna Recycling  Under 13’s – Hard luck to our seven representatives on the Mohill team who were competing against Carrick in the league finals on Thursday and Friday last. Despite their best efforts both teams were unlucky to lose. Well done to all.

Westlink Coaches Under 15’s – Best of luck to our under 15’s boys who start their league campaign when Mohill take on Sean O Heslin’s Ballinamore, on Thursday evening in Mohill at 7 30 p.m. Best of luck to all.

Social Night – On Saturday night next we host a social night in Creegan’s Bar with music by the ever-popular David Donnelly. This is a night with a difference because we are giving away € 300,00 in a draw confined to the yearly lotto ticket holders. Swan Bar Division 4 – Our junior team had another great win on Saturday evening last when we defeated Leitrim Gaels on a scoreline of 6 07 to 1 12. On this Saturday evening, we take on Sean O Heslins Ballinamore in Cloone at 7 p.m. All players are asked to be available.

ST JOSEPH’S BOYS – It was a weekend of Shields at underage with both our U13’s and U17’s teams in Shield finals.

Barna Recycling U13’s – Our U13’s took to the field on Friday evening last in Aughavas against a determined Dromahair team.  We played into the breeze in the first half and took a little time to settle into the game conceding an early goal and a point.  However, the fightback started, even though we were 4 points down at halftime we had the momentum and with excellent performances and the hard work rate from every member of the team we ran out winners on a scoreline of 2-11 to 3-4.  Well done lads, keep working hard and look forward to the championship.  Thanks to Mary Kenny, Secretary of Coiste na Nog for presenting the Shield. SPRING CLEAN 2018 – Thanks to all who answered the call on Saturday last for our community spring clean. What a great result 26 bags of rubbish taken off our roads in the Parish. The R201 from Meiltron to Drumshanbo North, the Fenagh road down as far as the Community Centre and the Augharan road.

Congratulations Girls – The Under 12 girls were the winners of the competition from Bundoran Lidl! Huge thanks to Michelle Cleary who nominated the girls. The team will now receive a set of jerseys and equipment. Our U12s will be starting their league campaign in late May so has come at a brilliant time.

Westlink Coaches Under 15 League – The Under 15s will take on Kiltubrid in Melvin Park at 7.30pm on Thursday (April 26th) in the 13 a side league. Good Luck to All.

Kinlough Community Development Plans Launch Night – The Fundraising initiative will be launched on Saturday, May 12th in the Community Centre. Everyone associated with the Club over the years in any way, whether as a player or non-player, at home or anywhere in the world, is asked to support these plans to make the badly needed playing facilities in Kinlough something to be proud of.   Part of the plan will involve “Make Your Mark on Melvin Park” for €100 which will represent a square of Melvin Park, entry into a draw, prizes 5x €1000, your name on a commemorative plaque. The Club will have a display on the night which will outline the achievements over the years and plans for the future. It promises to be a great night for all Gaels players, members and supporters past and present.

Swan Bar Division 3 – We played out an entertaining draw with Annaduff on Saturday evening in the park on a scoreline of 1-10 to 0-13. We played catch up for most of the game and trailed 0-09 to 0-04 at the break and trailed by 0-13 to 0-08 with time almost up but a late scoring burst in injury time rescued a point. Ciaran Walsh with a penalty and Bryan Beirne hitting a great equaliser with the final kick.

Newtowngore Engineering U-17 League – The U-17’s were well beaten by St. Marys in the league semi-final on Tuesday of last week. St. Marys were clearly a stronger team but the lads had to play 4 U-17 games in 7 days as well as a schools match and fatigue was certainly an issue. Well done to Mickey, Fergus, Noel and the team on their performances.

Westlink Coaches U-15 League – The boys kick off their campaign at home to Leitrim Gaels this Friday evening at 7pm. Best of luck to Angus, Farrell and the squad.

St. Francis Ladies – The ladies had a narrow win over Drumkeerin on Sunday in Ballinaglera. Best of luck to Paul, Gareth & the team in their remaining matches.

Underage Coaching – The Saturday morning sessions are back in the park on Saturday mornings at 10am for boys U-7 to U-11 & girls U-7 to U-12.

Kellogg’s Cul Camps – Please note that the summer coaching camp takes place in Drumshanbo from July 9th – 13th.

Mothers and Others – Gaelic Football training has resumed on Wednesdays in The Mayflower at 8pm. Anyone with an interest in learning new skills or those who may have played previously are welcome to join. It’s a great opportunity to get fit, have fun and make new friends! All are welcome.
