Under 21 – The game with Melvin Gaels scheduled to take place last Sunday morning was called off on Saturday. We now progress to the second round and play Ballinamore Seán O Heslins in Pairc Pilib on Sunday next at 12pm.  Ballinamore have a strong team so we need plenty of support next Sunday morning.

Dinner Dance – The Club will hold The Presentation and Awards night On January 20 In Lough Rynn Castle, starting with a reception at 7pm. This will be a great night, celebrating our various achievements during 2017.  Tickets will soon be on sale for €25.

Birthday Greetings – Happy Birthday to Keith (Squidgy) Keegan, who celebrated his 21st on Saturday last.

Quiz Corner – Following on from last week’s quiz, the answers were simple. The opposition was the 1970 County Under 14 champions Annaduff in the first round of the Under 14 Championship played in Dromod. A week later on the 4th of June, Cloone made amends by defeating Bornacoola in the Grange by 4 12 to 0 01.There were Some changes to the line when the following team took the field: Aidan McCrann, Brian Mulvey, John Gormley, Shane Creegan, Martin Mulvey, Sean McGovern, Hughie McGovern, Aidan Monaghan, Gerry Mulvey, Tadhg McHugh, Paudge McCrann, Sean Doherty, Mick Harte, Pauric Conway, Peter o Donnell. Sub used Pitchelli Brennan. Next week we will have a look at the under sixteen team of the same year.

Lotto – There was no winner of the Lotto jackpot of €4,200.00 at the weekend and the numbers drawn were 3, 10, 16, 24. Congratulations – Congratulations to our up and coming football star Niall Keegan Faughill who was part of the successful Leitrim Under sixteen team that defeated Longford in the semi-final of the Fr Manning Plate in Longford on Saturday last. They now play Louth on Saturday next in the plate final. We wish Niall and the team the very best on Saturday next and we urge supporters to go along and support this great bunch of young footballers.

Come Dine With Me – Plans for our very popular fundraiser ‘Come Dine with Me’ on Saturday DEC 2nd are now at an advanced stage and it sure looks like being bigger and better than ever this year. However there are a few vacancies for hosts, so if you feel like hosting a table please contact club secretary Martin McCaffrey as soon as possible.

U21 Championship – Hard luck to St. Joseph’s U21’s who were defeated by Glencar/Manorhamilton on a scoreline of 2-20 to 2-17 after extra time in a gripping encounter played in Carrigallen last Sunday.

Volunteers night – Our annual volunteers night will take place in Mitchell’s on Saturday 25th November at 7pm.

Strictly Come Dancing – The club would like to thank the organizing committee of strictly come dancing which took place over 2 nights on the October Bank Holiday Weekend. They organised a wonderful weekend of great entertainment. Thanks to all those who supported the event. This was a great community event and we hope you all enjoyed it. A huge thank you to the volunteers who helped out before, during and after the shows. Of course, this would not have happened if we did not have our dancers. A huge thank you to all our dancers who gave of their time to practice since the beginning of September. We are truly indebted to you for giving your time and support to us and to the National School and the Rainbow. We hope the dancers are enjoying the rest!

AGM – Our Annual General Meeting takes place on Saturday 2nd December in The Rainbow at 8:30pm. We hope to see all our footballers, old and new supporters along with those who have an interest in the club attending.

LADIES – Congratulations and well done to St. Mary’s/Annaduff minor ladies team and management who won the Shield final on Sunday afternoon beating Fenagh/Kiltubrid on a scoreline of 3.08 to 1.08.

These grants are open to registered and paid-up members of Leitrim GAA clubs, boys or girls. Some of the grants are part-sponsored by Gaeltacht colleges. In the case of cash grants, when students return they can claim their grant money on production of evidence of having successfully completed the course. Annual General Meeting – The AGM of Fenagh St Caillins GAA Club will be held on Saturday 2nd December 2017 at 7pm in the Fenagh Visitor Centre. All Club members are encouraged to attend. New Club members are also welcome.

U21 Championship – Fenagh/Gortletteragh u21 team commenced this year’s C’ship campaign on Sunday last with a win over St Brigid’s on a scoreline of 4.18 to 3.08. Their next game is scheduled for Sunday 19th November away to Melvin Gaels.
Leitrim U16 Team – Leitrim u16’s are currently taking part in the Fr Manning Cup competition. Fenagh St Caillins are represented by Tom McKeon, Conall McGovern and Eoin McLoughlin. On Sat next, they play Longford in Pearse Park at 2pm.
Michael Kenny Tournament – Fenagh St Caillins Minor team took part in The Michael Kenny 7aside Tournament in Carrigallen on Bank Holiday Monday last. The lads lost out to the hosts in an exciting final. Thank you to the Carrigallen club for inviting us to take part and for your hospitality on the day.

St Brigid’s U 21 – The lads played Fenagh Gortletteragh on Sunday in Gortletteragh – this was a high scoring game with some good displays from both sides ending up with a scoreline of Fenagh Gortletteragh 4 18  –  St Brigids  3 8 – next game with Ballinamore on Sunday next November 12th at 12 o’clock in Aughnasheelin.  Well done to Mohill on a great performance on Saturday last against Castlebar Mitchells in Castlebar.

U-21’s – Well done to the St Francis U-21’s who had a 4-13 to 2-12 victory over Kiltubrid yesterday. The team have secured their place in the 13 a side final. There is still a final round of games to be played next weekend to decide who they will play.

AGM – Ballinaglera GAA AGM will take place on Sunday, December 3rd at 2pm sharp. It is important that all club members, particularly players both male and female as well as parents of any underage children and anyone using the field in any capacity are present.

Dinner Dance –  Ballinaglera GAA Dinner Dance will take place on the 9th of December in The Landmark Hotel. A night of celebration for the 2017 League Winners and also the 25th Anniversary of the 1992 Winning Team with a special guest on the night. Dinner is at 8.00 pm sharp. Tickets cost €30 and are available from committee members Ann Flood, Sarah Loughlin, Ailish Cornyn, James Wynne, John Mulvey and Barry Mc Gourty.

Club Meeting – There will be a meeting next Wednesday evening November 15th at 9.30 pm sharp. All club members are asked to attend.

The Cavan Curse – We’d like to thank Seamus O’Rourke and his team for a very enjoyable night and everyone who came and supported it on the night. The night was a great success and the positive feedback we’ve received since the play, a real reflection of how entertaining the play is & how the brilliant performances of Fiona Fitzpatrick and the well known Seamus O’Rourke really were. Thanks to the traffic stewards, the people who helped out with refreshments, tickets sellers for the raffle, and all the local businesses who generously sponsored spot prizes on the night, also all who laid out the chairs and helped to tidy up after the play. Thanks to Bornacoola for the loan of extra chairs for the night.

U21 – Fenagh Gortletteragh got their U21 championship campaign underway with a good win over St Brigids in the park last Sunday morning. They have a bye in the competition this weekend.

Club AGM – The AGM of Gortletteragh GAA Club will take place on Saturday December 9th in the Community Centre, time TBC. Nominations for any Executive position or Motions for discussion to be emailed to the Secretary no later than Wednesday 6th December.

All Star – Well done to Liam Moreton on being selected as a Lory Meagher All-Star for his contribution towards getting Leitrim to Croke Park earlier this year. It’s the second such award for the Moreton family after Colm was a recipient last year. Great to see our club man honoured surrounded by the greats of our games.

Quiz Night – The Club are holding a table quiz in Carty bar on this Friday 10th November at 9pm. Come along for a great night of fun with plenty of prizes on the night. Tables of 4 €40.

Wedding Bells – Congratulations to Keith Naughton who married Donna Carson last weekend, from everyone involved in the club. Wishing the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness together.

Halloween Disco – Thank you to all the committee who did a wonderful job in having the hall looking so spooky and entertaining the children in a superb evening for parents and kids alike. We hope to build on this and make it bigger and better next year.

Club Meeting – Club Committee meeting will be held on Sunday 19th November at 5pm. This will be the last meeting prior to the AGM and we will be looking for any officer nominations and also motion proposals.

AGM – The Clubs AGM will be held on Sunday 3rd December at 5pm, this will be to review 2017, the nomination of Officers for 2018 and any relevant motions. County Board Convention – There are a number of vacancies including Vice Chairman of the Leitrim County Board. The full list is available from Linda should you have an interest. As a Club, we want to support any nominations as we do need to take such opportunities as a club and be involved at the County level to help influence changes and decisions as many have raised. The Convention will be held in the Bush Hotel on Monday 11th December at 7pm.
